There are enough to do most of your walkway flowerbeds in a small yard. They are unpainted to age naturally or you could paint them for a more formal look (and to stop any rusting). We leave ours unpainted, they get a beautiful rusty patina that looks great in our garden! Just shove them in the ground at the point where your garden hose pulls over into your flower bed and they will stop it from doing so. The ground stake can go into the ground 8" for stability. The stake is made of 1/2" steel stock and the finial is cast iron. DO NOT HAMMER THEM IN! It could break the finial.
