I am not an antique dealer and I'm not so familiar with the details surrounding these pieces. I bought this because I loved it and it was different than anything I saw in stores or at antique shops. When I purchased this at an auction 14 years ago, I saw the table top on the floor and the chairs were without cusions- just the shells of the chair. I won the whole set for $11,200.I brought it to an antique restoration guy who completely restored the pieces. I brought him some beautiful upholstery fabric for the chairs and when it was finished, it looked magnificent. I also have plenty of extra fabric for additional chairs or valances. All told, I spent almost $20,000 for the whole set. The table and, I believe, the chairs are made out of maplewood, which I was told doesn't exist anymore. Being that the table was too small for us yet had the mechanism to add leaves, we had 2 additional leaves made with a wood that matched up very well to the maplewood and the apron was carved to look exactly like the original table apron. I was told the table is from the Turn of the Century in the Regency style. The sideboard in the photos is sold separately but matches the table and chairs and has a large repaired break in the marble top which adds to its history, in my opinion.
