Description

Please ask before you bid, if this offer is still available. It is the brand that used to make the original frappe, which some call it the national drink of Greece. +You will also get the Greek Frappe recipe. History of the Greek frappé Frappé dates back to the 1957 International Trade Fair in Thessalonica. The representative of the Nestlé Company, Yiannis Dritsas, was exhibiting a new product for children, a chocolate beverage produced instantly by mixing it with milk and shaking it in a shaker. Dritsas' employee Dimitrios Vakondios was looking for a way to have his usual instant coffee during his break but he could not find any hot water. So he made the decision to use cold water and a shaker, creating the first frappé coffee. Vakondios has stated that he finds it difficult to believe how a simple improvised experiment came to establish the neo-Greek national drink. It has also been said that frappé was invented by construction workers who needed a beverage with durable foam that would act as a shield against dust and dirt in their working environment. The foam also helps to keep the coffee cool, making it a popular beverage in beach bars during the day. Frappé has been marketed chiefly by Nestlé and has had great success in Greece. More recently, Kraft, under the Jacobs label, have launched their own brand of frappé. Frappé has been called the national coffee of Greece, and is available at virtually all cafes, where it is typically served with a glass of water. In Greek: frappe, pronounced frah-PEH.
