DESIGNED BY INGO MAURER 1997 Up for auction is a well known and well designed light. The light is good condition. The light is made of Acrylic glass, aluminum, 360 degrees hologram. It takes a 50w 12v halogen (bulb included). The transformer is integrated in the canopy. The measurements of the light are 9.5" H x 18" in diameter and the cable length is 78.75". The hologram is 5" in diameter. The light reads WO BIST DU, EDISON, JETZT WO WIR DICH, BRAUCHEN? The shade has approximatly 300 holographic images to give the effect a light bulb, when on (see picture). The light holder is an optical illusion of a head in profile (see picture). The light is easy to install, but I recommend using a professional. This is a great light that will only increase in value. You will not find a better deal on this light. Ingo Maurer trained as a graphic designer until 1958. Then Ingo Maurer went to the US in 1960, where he worked as a graphic designer and designer. In 1966 Ingo Maurer returned to Germany and began to concentrate exclusively on lighting design. In Munich, Ingo founded Design M that same year, a firm specializing in producing lighting and developing lighting concepts.  By 1973 Design M had become Ingo Maurer Lighting GmbH. Ingo Maurer is one of the most prolific and respected artist/designers working today. Fascinated by what he calls the “magical and mystical” properties of light, Maurer constructs luminous atmospheres that play with traditional concepts of color, brightness, and shadow. Since 1966, Maurer has created more than 150 different lights and lighting systems and designed lighting for diverse international venues, including fashion runways, public buildings and monuments, and private commissions.
