Product Description The Jet JSSG-10 Slow Speed Wet Sharpener offers woodworkers advanced sharpening features, such as torque adjustment for consistent pressure to the drive shaft, variable dial speed control that maintains outer wheel speed regardless of the sharpening stone diameter, and a unique reservoir design that allows for better water management. This combination of features is not available on any other sharpening system. This tool also features an enclosed motor housing that keeps debris and water out of the interior of the tool, and an oversized reservoir that is designed with a flared top edge to capture more water during sharpening. Another handy addition is the diameter scale that provides a quick reference for the stone wheel diameter. And to help keep your tools organized and at your fingertips, Jet has equipped the JSSG-10 with a built-in storage tray that provides a convenient place for all your sharpening accessories. The lower portion of the stone runs in a bath of water. As the stone revolves it carries the water continuously over the grinding surface, cooling it and eliminating the risk of overheating. The grindstone runs at 90-150 revolutions per minute (RPM) and is driven by a quiet, yet powerful motor that is controlled by the variable speed switch. When the grindstone diameter is 250-millimeters, the grinder should be set at the lower 90 RPM setting. Over time with constant use the grindstone will wear down, and then the speed can be increased to compensate for the diameter loss. The ability to increase and decrease the speed makes it easy to maintain the optimum surface speed at all times.
