I handcraft my Hiders to, not only last, but also to allow them to be displayed as beautiful pieces to be admired in your living areas.   They can be made to hold a cushion to be used as a bench! (See the pictures below). You needn't hide one of my Hiders in the back bedroom, laundry room or bath. Put it right out in plain view and it will be an admired part of your decor. AND, your cats will LOVE their privacy, (also they enjoy lounging on the top). Not only that.......but my Hiders will last forever.......that's right, Put it in your will, LOL. This Hider is made so that the kitty must step out onto the carpet INSIDE the Hider where the litter "crumbs" are left before they step out onto your carpet or floor. And the carpet inside is not tacked down. All you have to do to clean the Hider is lift the carpet out and shake it either into the machine or take it outside and shake it......no more vacuuming!  The wood is 3/4 inch tongue and groove white pine boards, (not veneered plywood or beadboard), beaded on one side and grooved on the other. So, both the inside and the outside of the Hider have a finished look.  You can choose whether you want the V-groove or the Beaded side to be out.  The corners are mitered, glued and nailed. And the hinges and support hinge are plated brass.  Please note that I not only show you detailed pictures of the outside of the Hider, but also of the inside.  Most of my competitors do not.  ***If you would like for me to finish it, I will need to know the stain you desire, then I will coat it three times with varnish, carefully sanding in between each coat. The fee for a NORMAL finish on this Hider is $150. However, if you wish to purchase the Hider and finish it yourself, I will be happy to "walk" you through the steps to provide a layer that will not only beautify your acquisition, but also will protect it for many years. All Hiders will have a crate and boxing charge of either $30 or $40 added to the price.  Check the pictures below to see why.  I build a crate out of high density foam heat sealed to fit each item to protect them from damage.  Then, I build a box out of new, flat cardboard that will exactly fit the crate.  This keeps the item from damage and saves a great deal of trouble for both of us.
