ajeelrussell Store Matcha Sencha Green Tea Blend 200g Grüner Tee Koyamaen Search 200g Bag of Marukyu Koyamaen Sencha/Matcha Blend - Traditional sencha blended with matcha for that extra good taste and nutrients Normal 0 0 2 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE When it comes to matcha, quality is key. A high quality matcha has a good balance of sweetness and bitterness. The higher the quality of the matcha the more balance and mellow the taste. We offer several grades of matcha to suit every palate. Our matcha is of the highest quality and will always come to your door FRESH, in the original airtight can. Our location here in Kyoto gives us easy access to the manufacturer, which means that our matcha doesn’t sit on a shelf for weeks before reaching your door steps. Our matcha is the freshest batch you can get anywhere on the internet and for a very good price. I am a new supplier of matcha, but my experience handling, serving and studying tea is long. It is my study of tea ceremony for several hours per week, and my deep appreciation for tea that made me disappointed to see the low quality tea being offered here on Ebay. There are very few suppliers that offer the real deal and they do so with a real marketing flair. I do not have that flair, I simply bring you tea, a lover of tea perspective. THEREFORE I will give you an accurate description of the elements of the teas I offer. I will not present a tea as the best, if it is not. Lower priced teas tend to be on the bitter side and I will honestly disclose that in my descriptions, no gimmick; it is up to you the customer to choose the taste those appeals to your palate. WHY be honest? Because many of you are not just on the ‘green tea bandwagon as tea drinkers’ you are a true TEAIST like myself. Personal Tip: As a student of Urasenke Tea Ceremony my personal favorite for everyday drinking is Shohaku. That is the tea we use in our tea ceremony class each week. For actual tea ceremonies we use Kinrin and higher grades. When I serve customers who come for Kimono dressing at my home, I serve them Tancho no Mukashi from Ippodo. Quality Name Size Cost Taste Premium Unkaku 20g Can 40g Can 100g Can $35 $60 $120 When only the best will do. This grade is perfect for thick tea to give that hard to achieve exquisite blend High grade KinrinProfound 20g Can 40g Can 100g Can $26 $46 $92 Can’t ask for a better taste for the learned tongue. All aspects of bitter and sweet are in good harmony. This is the lowest grade that can be used for making thick tea Medium Shohaku 20g Can 40g Can 100g Can $20 $35 $75 Preferred by Urasenke tea masters, this grade has a good balance of bitter and sweet that is very easy to appreciate. Used by my tea ceremony teacher in our chanoyu classes Medium YugenThe infinate way 40g Can 100g Can $36 $75 Mellow blend. Enough bitterness to stimulate the tongue with just enough sweetness to give it that easy to drink quality. This tea has that balance that makes it perfect for the person who wants to drink a higher quality tea daily without the fuss Regular Isuzu Fifty Bells 40g Can 100g Can $21 $45 This tea is less bitter than Aoarashi with a hint of sweetness. A clean, pure, and simple taste that you can grow to love. Value Aoarashi Green Wind Storm 40g Can 100g Can $16 $35 The bitter elements of this tea is more pronounced than the sweet making it a good choice for those making lattes and smoothies, or for those who appreciate a bolder tasting tea. It has an almost smoky pleasant aroma, emulates a dark green colour. The Marukyu-Koyamaen Brand Normal 0 0 2 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Marukyu-Koyamaen is ranked among the most well known producers of fine teas in Japan. Marukyu-Koyamaen has a history that dates back to the late 1600s’ during Genroku period in Japan. This highly esteemed company was started when Kyujiro Koyama began cultivating tea in Uji, Kyoto. With a strong commitment to quality each generation improved the quality of the tea by raising the standards of the cultivation, harvesting and preparation of the tea leaves. The attention to quality has resulted in Koyamaen winning many first place and top prizes in tea producing competitions across the country. Health Benefits of Matcha Like all green teas, matcha is credited with providing numerous health benefits. The beauty of matcha is that you can receive the benefit of the whole, high-quality green tea leaf. Comparatively, matcha green tea has a much higher concentration of antioxidants than orange juice or blueberries, two fruit sources well known for their abundance of antioxidant properties. Matcha has a very high polyphenol content. EGCG has been one of the most researched polyphenols in green tea; a 2003 study found that matcha tea had an extremely high EGCG content (at least three times higher than other green teas). Some studies suggest that by regulary drinking matcha we can benefit from its anti-cancer effects, and possible improvements in cholesterol. In addition clinical trials conducted by the University of Geneva in Switzerland indicate that green tea raises metabolic rates and speeds up fat oxidation and therefore has weight loss properties. Nutritionally, green tea is high in potassium, iron, and magnesium, as well as dietary fiber. What's more, matcha green tea is also low in calories. It is a curious thing but I have noticed that all my tea ceremony teachers have beautiful skin and look years younger than their actual age.
