This type of buffer is always used to finish up after heavy compounding and to put a nice coat of polish on in order to remove swirls and to add protection to the finish. This buffer will only remove light scratches not heavy scratches because of its soft orbital motion. Using the wrong type can put excessive wear on your cars finish. You can't go wrong at this price.
