Please email if you have any questions before purchasing. Thank You. Attention Buyers: Siberian goose down is only a marketing name, Siberian geese are not used in the production of down comforter's. The climate in Siberia is too cold for raising geese, with temperatures as cold as up to -70 degrees which is far to cold even for geese. This is why they migrate. The Siberian goose is in fact red and black in color (NOT WHITE). The reality is the marketing term for Siberian goose down means it is probably a cheaper Chinese Goose Down and very misleading. Be wary of other sellers offering Luxury King Siberian Goose Down Comforters with 750 FP 800TC or LUXURY 1200TC King Siberian Goose Down Comforter 750FP at unbelievable prices, unless they are closing out one or a few items. If their regular prices seem too good to be true, you know what they say...BUYER BEWARE Please see below, or email for more details on why these offers are misleading. About Thread Count: There are some on eBay pitching their high thread counts. Some of these peddlers are misleading you because they usually sell 'plied' yarns. i.e. one yarn that is made by twisting together multiple finer threads. For marketing purposes, a fabric with 250 yarns in both the vertical and horizontal direction could have the component threads counted to a 1000 thread count although according to the National Textile Association, which cites the international standards group ASTM, accepted industry practice is to count each thread as one, even threads spun with two-or three-ply yarn. The FTC recently issued a warning that consumers 'could be deceived or misled' by inflated thread counts. Also, some have become obsessed with thread count, but like so many other products there are a number of factors that go into making a fine quality item. Although thread count is important, please do not be fooled by thread count alone as it is only one factor in what makes for fine bed linens. After all you can have 1,000 count made out of straw but it’s still 1,000 thread count. Thread count is only one factor in determining the quality of bed linens; we must also consider the quality and content of the thread or yarn, the construction of the linens, and finally their finish. Fill Power: All down is not created equal. Goose down is better than duck down. Down from mature geese that live in cold climates produce larger down clusters that trap more body heat keeping you warmer as well as lofting up to produce a comforter that is puffy without weight. Fill power refers to the space one ounce of down occupies in cubic inches. The fill power rating measures the down clusters ability to loft up after compression. Down comforters with higher fill power measurements are fluffier, will last longer, and will provide more warmth at lighter weights. Fill power Quality of 800+ is considered superior, while 650 fill-power and up is considered luxury quality. The higher the fill-power the greater the thermal properties and the puffier the comforter for the same fill weight as lower quality down. Again, fill power is an area that some eBay peddlers are very liberal with the facts. About Down and Price: Keep in mind that down, like any commodity such as corn, for example, is a limited resource. All the down manufacturers get the down from the market or raise their own incurring like expenses of any other producer of similar quality down. Therefore, the cost of the same fill power down should be relatively consistent throughout the industry. Be wary of those offering 700+ fill power or higher, at prices that the manufacturer would not even be able to purchase or raise the material needed to fill the comforter. Down Fill Percentage: The purity of the contents of your down comforter determines its price, comfort, ease of care, and lifespan. Comforters with purer fills WILL have a higher price, but they will also have fewer odors, greater comfort, and greater ease of care and will last longer. Know the truth behind 100-percent down comforters. Most really only have 75% down, but at least with this measurement, YOU are in the drivers seat. Manufacturers are required by law to put the percentage of down fill on the label attached to the comforter. Most which will generally state that it contains a minimum 75% down. This is the industry standard, and the minimum required down fill allowed in order for the comforter to be considered a Down comforter. If the peddlers are stating 100-percent goose down ask them what the label states. If the manufacturer truly makes their comforters with a higher percentage, they will surely state it on the label, because it exceeds industry standards of a minimum 75% down. No way, if a manufacturer goes through the extra expense of separating the down from the feather at a higher standard than required by law without advertising this on their label! Even so, some peddlers are touting 100-percent goose down and when you receive your comforter and check the label, you will likely see minimum 75% down. If you ask these sellers (I did), they will say that is only a minimum, but your comforter is actually 100%! Oh really! Purchasing a Down Comforter: When deciding to purchase a down comforter you are selecting the warmest, most luxurious and comfortable way to sleep. Possibly you want to be warmer in bed, feel luxurious or just sleep better. There are a lot of down comforters out there, many without any real information for the consumer to make an educated purchase. With others, the information can be inaccurate, or misleading. Considering you spend 1/3 of your life in bed you should consider buying a high quality down comforter from someone you can trust. We will offer bargain priced down comforter’s, feather and down comforter’s (comforter’s with less than 75% down fill), and the most luxurious comforters available.
