Description
Sun Spot 2 In situations of emergency, camping, outdoor adventure, expeditions, power outage, military, survival, or threatened homeland security, don't be stuck without electricity for your important electronic devices! This quality compact portable solar panel - battery power system will recharge itself in sunlight, and will provide you with 12-volt direct (DC) current. This Portable Battery Power System can be charged by the included solar panel or an AC-powered battery charger (not included). A 12-volt maintenance-free lead acid battery, solar charge controller, fusing, wiring, and accessories are assembled in the United States, immediately ready to use, simple to use, and are housed in a water-, crush-, and dust-proof, protective carrying case in woodland camouflage. The electrical components are padded as needed inside the case by custom-configured, cubed foam. The solar panel remains outside the case. The system will power small portable electronic devices as long as the correct power adapters/cables for the devices are available (provided by client), and as long as the power draws of the devices do not exceed the power output rating of the power system. The solar power input and DC power output cables are accessible via the inside of the case. To run a 12-volt, DC-powered device, plug the device’s male cigarette lighter plug into the power unit’s female DC power socket. This system will deliver a maximum of 60 watts of 12-volt DC power via one female DC socket, and is best suited for small, portable, DC-powered electronic devices, and applications where minimal weight is important. If the power draw of your electronic device is 20 watts, the battery will last approximately 2.4 hours before it needs to be recharged, longer if the power draw is less, shorter if the power draw is more. This system does not include a DC-AC power inverter. A small, slim, continuous 130-watt, modified sine wave power inverter may be added for an additional cost. If the power draw from the DC socket exceeds 60 watts, a 5-amp ATC fuse will blow, and will need to be replaced. Sun Spot 2 comes with Battery: 5 amp-hour (60 watt-hour), adsorbed glass mat, sealed lead acid. Solar charge controller: 4.5-amp unit. Solar panel: one foldable, 10-watt Uni-Pac unit by Uni-Solar in green woodland camouflage that will require 6-7 hours of peak sunlight to completely recharge the battery if it is depleted (dimensions in inches = 10 x 5 x 2 folded; 46 x 19.5 unfolded; weight = 2.1 pounds) . The power unit/case measures 8.12 x 6.56 x 3.56 inches in external dimensions, and the entire system weighs 7.15 pounds.
