3 OF 3SET of 3 DECO-STYLEPATIO/POOL PLATFORM CHAISES from the former Dolores del Rio & Cedric Gibbons Santa Monica, CA, estateset of three platform chaises of powder coated gray steel,custom designed and fabricated to match in style and color their former residence of 20 plus years, the Schindler-inspired home that Art Director non pareil Cedric Gibbons* designed with histhen-recent bride, Dolores del Rio, in Santa Monica canyon, c. 193072" long x 24" wide x 14" high (platform) x 19" archproduced in the early 1980's, the 3 chaises and their 4 first-cousins with adjustable backs are unique, while following actual stylistic guidelines of the transition from late-deco to early modern; costing a couple arms and a couple legs to fabricate, they are indicative of the commitment their owner had, and the tremendous expense itcost , to maintain the integrity of the original overall design of thehouse and its furnishings during their c. 1980 to 2004 residence condition and shippingthe chaises are in excellent condition, with barely a knick to show for their 25+ year age; the cushions remain firm and invitingly comfortable,though they require a thorough professional cleaning since layingaround doing nothing in the southen california atmosphere can be harmful to anyone or anything's good healthfrom 2004 to end July, 2008, the chaises were crated at a professional storage facility; currently they are in the Westwoodsection of Los Angeles where they will remain until beingcollected by the new owner or shipped by truck to him/her,all shipping charges including insurance and possible cratingto be paid for by the winning bidder terms of sale: 1. seller reserves right to cancel anybid and/or auction at any time2. winner pays all shipping charges & required insurance 3. payment by bank wire transfer, bank/personal check and Pay Pal4. item is sold as is - sales are final 5. authenticity and condition are guaranteedplease notelast two images show the two sets ofadjustable chaises that are also currently listed*art director of immense influence in film and also the artist who designed Oscar thanks for looking please check our other auctions by clicking the Ebay shop icon below ya -
