Description
This Shop Smith has been well cared for and over a 10 year period, received ocassional use. Pictured, are not only the various systems available and used, but some of the items that I had made, using this unit, when not on the road selling fire fighting equipment. The unit comes complete with retractable wheels and two manuals: one manual is the owners manual explaining setup and operation, plus some learning assignments. The second manual is "Power Tool Wood Working for Everyone"; this book is hard backed with 318 pages filled with pictures and illustrations. These two items help the novice turn out work that he would be proud to have on display in his own home. To my knowledge, there are no missing parts as all systems were set up and run prior to listing on the auction. Available systems as pictured are: regular shop smith with extended table and a 12" sanding disc. A second disc also comes along so that you can maintain your discs with two different sanding grits. This picture also illustrates the regular sawing position with Shop Smith standard blade. 2nd picture is a belt sander which lets you do a lot of work in a short time. Picture 3 is the lathe set up to turn a short piece of wood. Picture 4 is the duplicator which also has a long piece in the lathe holder and is showing the lathe tools in their holder. The duplicator is used when you want to turn a table leg when making a nice table for your spouse, and then you want 3 more legs to turn out the same design. Easily done with the duplicator. 5 shows the horizontal boring mill position if you are making a floor type lamp and you need to bore a long hole. 6 illustrates the drill press position; along with the drill press comes a sanding drum for sanding the inside of holes. 7 shows the set up to use a biscuit joiner cutter; position 8 shows the setup for the shaping attachment used instead of a router. 9 shows the parts and accessaries tlhat go along to make the above items workable. Also, there is included, a Master Ring Cutter attachment. Number 10 is a table which was made mainly on a lathe. Picture 11 shows a bunch of items. In the upper corner is a table that has turned legs, (using duplicator), joined table top, and slip fittngs for use with the table leaves. The table centered is from a book on mission furniture; I used the biscuit joiner to piece the table top together, and a mortising attachment for mounting all of the smaller pieces. Finally, on top of the table are 3 items I turned while learning the techniques required in using the lathe. All of our items are always in good condition unless otherwise stated.
