A++++++++++++"   "my husband and i bought a pillow top mattress not too long ago but we did not like it at all! it was way too firm for us. i'm 7 and a half months pregnant now and our mattress was causing some back pains and some sleepless nights. so i had been looking around for a topper for quite some time. when i saw this SERTA at the price listed i had to buy it. before purchasing this mattress topper i did not read the reviews, i thought the name SERTA spoke for itself. needless to say, when i did read the reviews (after purchasing it), i was a little scared having read the lowest rating reviews first. some said that the mattress came to them damaged or was easily damaged while being taken out of the box, the quality of the fabric did not live up to it's name, the topper was cut short, no proof that it was a SERTA topper, the smell was horrrible, it was hard as a rock, it was way too soft and so on and so on.well, i received the topper in just 3 business days. the box did have a SERTA sticker around it and there was also a SERTA sticker on the bag that the mattress was in (i don't think they could have put their logo right on the topper as it is all raw foam). well luckily my package was not damaged. the mattress came shrink wrapped and rolled up inside this box. the instructions said to let the roll unroll itself and not to force it open because it could cause the foam to tear, maybe some people got impatient and forced it open causing it to tear? well, after i got mine to unroll, i let it expand for a few hours. the instructions say that it could take up to 24 hours. i had it laying out on my floor, and when i tried it out (after only an hour), i felt that it was very firm. i was sooooo disappointed! BUT, after another 3-4 more hours i decided that it was time to put it onto my existing mattress, and to my surprise, it was like laying on a fluffy cloud! i love it! maybe the hard floor made it really firm?i did not notice an extremely horrible smell although there is a slight odor. keep in mind that i am pregnant and i smell everything! i owned a foam topper a long time ago and i have to say that the fabric quality of this SERTA is a LOT better than the one i used to own. it doesn't seem like it would tear as easily as my old one did.the topper is cut a few inches short. a queen mattress is supposed to measure about 60x80 and this topper is about 58 x 77 in. i think if the topper was the exact same size as my mattress, the fitted sheet i have would not go over it so that doesnt bother me too much. i was able to do all of the unpacking and moving by myself. it wasn't as hard as some people said it was. but i do see what a problem it would be to repack if you were to decide that you didn't want to keep it.i've slept on this topper for 2 nights now and love it. i do not notice anymore smells coming from it. this topper hugs my body and i have not felt the night sweats like some had said. it is however, hard to get out of bed because it is so soft!"   I was hesitant to purchase something like this over the computer...I'm glad to say I was delighted when I received the mattress pad. When this is on my bed I can barely even feel the mattress underneath. The topper is incredibly tightly packed when received, so if you are not 100% sure you are going to keep this, don't buy it as you will NEVER be able to get it back. This topper is incredibly comfortable, but it no miracle worker. I don't really think I am more rested when I get up in the morning, but again - the thing is very comfortable. I had a feather down topper before and it got all matted down and uncomfortable - this topper is definitely much better. When you get it home it takes a while to expand. They fold it up and flatten it so about 8" of foam compress to 1". Once it is expanded it takes about a full day for the smell to go away. I let it sit for about 7 hours before putting it on my bed. The smell was very little, but still noticable. the next day I took off my sheets and let it air out for another 12-15 hours, after that the smell wasn't noticable unless you barried your nose in the mattress.Overall - buy the mattress topper if you want a good quality memory foam. Don't Expect Miracles from it, just expect it to be very comfortable. You will have a little noticable smell, but it goes away quickly, and don't buy this unless you plan to keep it - you will never be able to ship it back.
