The solid brass lamp was designed by Artist and Architect Peter Behrens. This beautifully reproduced lamp is finished in an antique patina.  The shade is made using the Copper Foil Construction method developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany Studios. Peter Behrens was a world renown German Architect and designer.  Known as the First Industrial Designer of the 20th Century because of his work in 1907 at AEG (Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gessellschaft) in Germany where he created the entire corporate identity of the company - logo, product design, publicity, etc.  Influenced by the Arts & Crafts movement, one of his assistants - Walter Gropius, went on to become the first Director of the Bauhaus. Like Wright, he was also an architect that built his own house and fully conceived everything inside - from furniture and towels to paintings and pottery.
