Toro purchased the Olathe company and then sold these same units as the 5400HL under the Toro label. Parts are available through Toro dealers. I will include a printed manual. This is the larger 60" sweep width vs the smaller 48" sweep width of the 48HL/4800HL units. Hopper on the 54HL is rated for 3 cubic yards vs 1.25 cubic yards on the 48HL/4800HL units. Over twice the capacity of the 4800HL units! This is important because the hopper fills fast with leaves and debris. I used this unit for the last couple of years on a huge yard full of oak trees. It was a dream machine. I could dump all of the debris on the edge of the property creating a mountain of compost. I have since moved to another state (I took this unit along of course!), but have come to the sad realization that my new yard does not have the leaf problem of my previous property. Also, I have a MAJOR house project going that needs all of my money. You'll see that many of these units found homes on golf courses down south. I've seen many of these units for sale that are rusted/faded badly, especially the hoppers and have the paint baked off and hoses are all cracked and brittle. This unit has always been shedded and everything is good condition. Check out the rust free hopper picture. This is a big unit that is probably best hauled on a snowmobile trailer or something capable of handling its wide 80" width (outside of tires). 82" to the outside of fenders. 66" overall height and 112" long. The manual says 100", but I measure 112" overall length. According to the manual the weight is approximately 2100lbs, although it handles lighter than that. The rubber fingers are replaceable and retail for about $1.89 each from Toro. There are 140 total fingers (according to the manual). The fingers on this unit are in good to fair condition and should last several more seasons without any issues. The best I could do to show the unit in action was to drive across some cut grass and piick up the clippings. Wet matted down grass/leaves are no problem either since the action is mechanical and not vacuum. Like I say this unit is a dream. You never have to get off since everything is hydraulically controlled at your finger tips. Forward and reverse are hydrostatic. No gears! It can move along quite nicely when the hopper is full.
