The first requirement is to determine the heating and cooling requirements for your house or business. DESCO Energy is the only source providing free online sizing of your heating and cooling system. The second requirement is completion of our warranty validation form by you and your installer. The warranty validation form proves the technician or installer has properly installed your new system and that the operation is at 100% efficiency to provide you maximum comfort, energy savings and longevity. No other source has any requirements. The Warranty Validation Form has been reviewed and approved by the manufacturer(s) for the product(s) provided. Our two requirements are the reasons why we are able to offer warranty and technical support direct to you. It is also the reason why our customers have the lowest warranty claims in the HVAC industry and the main contributing reason why our customers have never had to file any complaint against us. The second main reason there have been no customer complaints filed against us is because we believe customer service is our primary goal and responsibility. You can either be a box buyer using nothing other than price as your guideline and purchase a box from a box seller or you can purchase a system with the technical support and assistance you need for a successful installation. **Click Here to go to the continued part of this message in the lower part of this ad. Call DESCO Energy Toll Free 877-265-9764 8-5 Eastern Time You can also email us at info@descoenergy.com or from the ASK a Question Section on eBay for minor questions. For any and all pricing, detailed or multiple questions, please call us. Emails are very inefficient for an application requiring detailed explanations or where further information is almost always required by our design and sales team for a correct answer.    This ad is for the following Product(s):   Trinity Wall Hung Boiler Model Ti150 from 25k to 150k btus 98% Operating Efficiency and 92.7% AFUE All of the Trinity Boilers are ASME certified and have the important H Stamp which some states and local areas have required such as Michigan. (Beware there are a large number of Box Sellers selling the older obsolete non certified Trinity boilers.) This is not the combi boiler - The combi boiler or the TI-150C has the ability to also provide domestic hot water in addition to heating your home. However please note the domestic hot water output of the TI-150C is extremely limited and may not be satisfactory for active families. There are other methods we have developed for providing domestic hot water from the TI-150C or you may need the TI-200C combi boiler. But don't guess in making your decision. Call us first and review your application. Or to get started go to our online sizing form by Clicking Here         The Trinity TI-150 is the largest selling boiler on eBay and the internet. Why? DESCO Energy has been the first and only source to advertise the Trinity boilers long before others had no idea of what an ultra efficient wall hung boiler was. Then came the copy cats who tried to lower their prices slightly to out weigh the fact they are unable to provide technical support and have no Trinity Factory training. Some have made ridiculous claims such as the Trinity is eligible for tax credits to try to falsely mislead customers from buying from them. As usual don't know what that seller is going to do with his false claims when it comes time for any customers filing income taxes. Maybe he figures he'll be long gone by the time any customers who may have purchased from him figure out the scam. In order for any boiler to qualify for a $300 tax credit the AFUE has to be 95% or higher. So if that information is deceptive and misleading, what else can be trusted?? The bottom line is if you are looking to purchase a Trinity boiler and move up to the highest efficiency you need to know the Authorized Factory Trained Sales are able to provide a complete system including all the ancillary items that go into making a complete hydronics system.  DESCO Energy provides that and more. For in floor radiant heating DESCO Energy can layout and design a complete in floor radiant heating package for your application just as we have in this ad. Before, during and after the installation you also need to have the technical support that DESCO Energy provides to all it's DIY homeowner installations. DESCO Energy is the design and answer team for Trinity boilers and hydronic heating systems.  This package comes with a 1 year all parts warranty on the Boiler parts Limited 10 Year Heat Exchanger Warranty. All warranties are limited and do have specific requirements and guidelines. All warranty and technical support is provided by DESCO Energy. To receive the warranty and technical support we do have warranty requirements. There are three important warranty requirements: 1. You are required to use our online sizing form to determine you are purchasing the right size boiler.  2. After the installation is complete a certified technician that is licensed must do the final start up and check out  and complete and return the warranty validation form to us within 60 days or less. The application must be for a single family owner occupied home. For more detailed information on our warranties, procedures and requirements please click on the links below in this ad. (Please note we do not require a licensed contractor to complete the installation. We recommend the licensed installers or service technicians employed by contractors. The Trinity is certified, designed and rated to strict CSA, AGA and CSA UL codes. For  Trinity Manufacturers Specifications Click Here   The Trinity boiler has the option availability of providing domestic hot water heating in addition to basic heating. The Trinity boiler listed in this ad does not provide that option. Refer to other ads for the Trinity ti150c Combi for the dual function boiler. Domestic hot water can also be generated by use of an indirect water heater such as the Amtrol which is listed in our other ads. A much better method of providing domestic hot water with high capacity than the Ti-150C combi unit with it's very limited capacity. Note - Do Not Consider the purchase of a Trinity TI150C combi boiler unless you fully understand it's very limited domestic hot water output. What is great about the Trinity wall hung boiler is first there is no chimney required. Venting can be made through sidewalls or through roofs via 3" pvc. An intake and vent pipe is required for a closed combustion system for which this boiler is designed. The second feature of the boiler is it's small and compact size which takes up no floor space. Most other manufacturers require floor mounted boilers taking up valuable floor space for the boiler and associated piping and controls. Modulation provides the boiler with the ability to match the heating load requirements of any application at any given time. Unlike other boiler manufacturers who have a wide array of boiler models at which they all operate at either 100% capacity or off results in wasted energy and operating efficiencies. By providing modulation there are longer operating cycles and very little energy lost up the stack. In fact only 2% of the energy is lost in the Trinity boiler while it is operating. And that is 2% of the heating required at the time of operation. Other boilers have an average of 20% of 100% capacity lost every time the boiler is operating at short cycles. Short operating cycles cause more than just wasted energy, they shorten the life of the equipment. Hot water reset provides an additional 16% energy savings. By only producing the degree of hot water required the boiler is able to reduce energy losses of the piping system. Typical boilers maintain one operating temperature. But the Trinity boiler varies the water temperature down as outside temperatures increase. A baseboard hot water system only requires 180 degree water at the coldest outdoor temperatures such as 0 degrees. However at 60 degrees only 90 degree hot water is required. By varying this hot water temperature according to the heat loss based on the outside temperature results in significant energy savings. If you purchase the Trinity Combi boiler system with domestic hot water coil even more significant energy savings will occur and the absence of a large hot water tank saves even more valuable floor space. But what you won't find is everything else we offer such as online sizing, factory trained technical support, complete hydronics layout and design assistance and most importantly the technical expertise to evaluate and assist you and your contractor should problems arise that are beyond the scope of the expertise of your installer. We know these boilers inside and out and can and do resolve installation or operation problems when you need it. Trinity has the best track records for us that are far above other manufacturers in the ultra efficient boilers. Remember that everything breaks down and fails. It's not a matter of if but when. When it happens to you and your technician can't figure out the problem, we will. And we always have with every product we sell for over 35 Years. Yes we're aware of the copy cat advertisers who are now trying to peddle the Trinity boilers. They may offer a $25 or $50 lower price. But when you need technical or know how support or service support or warranty parts, that savings will mean absolutely nothing coming from another seller who has no knowledge of the product or if they're no longer in business or if they have no parts that can be shipped out immediately. Do they advertise Factory Trained Service? Do they even tell you what they have to offer other than a box? Do they explain in any written detail about how they handle warranty or technical support issues? No? That's because there is none. So would you rather make this substantial investment from DESCO Energy or that? The seller may make some reference or state there is a Factory Warranty of such and such a time. That is false and the worst deception played upon homeowners. Worse yet the sellers realize there's no factory warranty available. The bottom line the factory of HVAC manufacturers and Trinity in particular offer no technical or warranty support direct to homeowners. In fact because of this growing fleet of untrained and inexperienced box sellers, NTI-Trinity will provide no warranty or technical support to you or your installer. That's why there are only a few Authorized Factory Trained Advertisers of Trinity boilers on the internet and DESCO Energy is the only source on eBay. Would you like to save an additional $50 off the purchase price of this boiler? It's easy and simple. To qualify you need to do two things. Find the seller on eBay who is falsely and intentionally misleading homeowners by stating there is a $150 tax credit on Trinity boilers. Send that seller an email asking him to prove where you can find the information validating there is a $150 tax credit and where it can be substantiated by any government authorized Dept. of Energy list. The Dept. of Energy and EPAC lists all manufacturers products that are registered and eligible for heating and air conditioning equipment that qualify for tax credits. Trinity boilers are not on that list. Also tell him what you think of his deceitful advertising. Then tell us who the seller is and we'll give you $50 off the purchase of the Trinity boiler in this ad. By doing this you help clean up deceptive advertising on eBay and save $50 at the same time. Save an additional $25 by finding one other source on eBay that can show their certificate of  Factory Training by Trinity and we'll give you an additional $25 off this boiler. Out of curiosity also ask any other seller of Trinity boilers how you could possibly obtain a factory warranty from Trinity. Call Trinity and you'll quickly discover there is no factory warranty available or technical support available to any homeowner or their installer when purchasing over the internet. By making these discount offers we prove to you how easy it is to be deceived by sellers of HVAC equipment on eBay. Trinity boilers as well as all ultra efficient boilers require what is called primary/secondary loops. The primary loop uses a very high flow pump to provide adequate constant water flow through the boiler at all times. Because of the resistance to flow or pressure drop through the plate heat exchanger of the Trinity boiler a high flow, high static pump is required on the primary loop. Without this constant flow through the boiler you could cause harm to the heat exchanger in only a few short seconds as the intense heat is focused entirely on a very small surface area. A flow switch in the boiler will provide some protection but not total protection against an improperly sized primary pump. The secondary loop is the loop that feeds each zone of your house. There can be a number of secondary loops off the primary loop. A regular boiler doesn't have this capability. Someone inexperienced with radiant in floor heating systems can prescribe using one secondary loop with one pump and then using zone valves to control each zone. This is to anyone knowledgeable in the control of radiant floor heating systems knows this method of control will ultimately result in uneven temperatures of rooms and zones. Always use pumps and never use zone valves to control an in floor radiant heating system. Why? If you use one single secondary pump and then use a multiple group of zone valves to control flow, the flow will never be consistent resulting in over heating spaces. For example let's say you use a single secondary pump with 4 zone valves. Each zone valve is controlled by a thermostat. As each zone thermostat becomes satisfied it shuts the flow off to that zone. Now at the end of the cycle you only have one zone valve open. All the flow from that secondary pump is going to go through that single zone resulting in overheating of the space involved. There is no constant water flow to any zone using this method. And there's nothing more upsetting than to put a major investment forward to a radiant or any hydronics system and find out you can't control the temperature. It happens too much and it happens every day. This is just point of expertise we point out that DESCO Energy provides in designing any hydronics system. The reason a homeowner chooses radiant in floor heating or other types of hydronics heating systems is comfort. Homeowners realize that radiant and hot water heating systems are the most energy efficient but they also expect perfect comfort too. Any deviation more than 1/2 of one degree from the thermostat setting in a properly designed radiant system is too much. An improperly designed system will overshoot as much as 5,10 or even 15 degrees using the improper methods such as the single example shown above. And there's much more but we simply wanted to point out one of the fatal flaws made by inexperienced and ill prepared contractors or sellers. Got Questions?? Need Assistance?? Confused?? Free when making a boiler purchase! **Continued from the beginning of the ad - Homeowners without do it yourself skills can still save substantially on their HVAC system by purchasing a well designed and properly sized system from DESCO Energy and locating an installer to do the complete installation. Or the do it yourselfer with moderate skills to highly skilled can do up to 95% of their installation and have the last 5% of the installation completed by a professional installer. Remember, you aren't required to use a contractor for the installation, just the professional highly skilled and licensed installer working for the contractor. So whether you're a highly skilled and experienced do it yourselfer or with no do it yourself skills or desires, each will still save substantially over a contractor quoted installation. In addition you will save more energy, increase comfort levels and have a system that will provide many years of trouble free service. Or you can purchase a box anywhere else and take your chances. Remember that the vast majority of HVAC manufacturers will not provide warranty and/or technical support to a homeowner directly or their installer for online purchases. Have you looked closely at all other online sellers' ads to see if you can find even any reference to warranties, technical support, requirements, design or sizing services? If price is your only guideline and proper sizing of your system isn't important to you or if you plan on doing 100% of the installation of your system please consider everything we've pointed out to you first. Without following our established and approved procedures, we won't provide any warranty or technical support. And if we have before-hand knowledge that any homeowner intends to do their own installation and not use a professional installer for the final start up and check out of the system, we will void that sale. The procedures, guidelines and requirements we have established are there for your benefit. They are a result of over 35 years of experience in assisting homeowners and businesses to guarantee the most possible successful installation by avoiding over 99% of the problems that can and do result in failures, wasted energy, warranty problems and short equipment life. In the vast majority of installations by HVAC professional contractors the equipment has been oversized and poorly installed resulting in higher than necessary initial costs, wasted energy, warranty claims, short equipment life and poor comfort. Worse yet most homeowners don't even know their new system is wasting energy and they come to accept poor comfort through low expectations. These statements aren't just from DESCO Energy, they are facts which can be verified at the U. S. Dept. of Energy and some HVAC manufacturers' websites. The vast majority of DESCO Energy's customers purchase their new systems from us because they want the best installation with maximum comfort, energy savings and longevity. Price is their second consideration. Our customers realize the magic is not in the box and that it takes a complete well designed and sized system to achieve their goals. They realize each component contributes to whether they will be successful in achieving their goals. For the homeowners that only use price as their guideline, they are box buyers that generally buy from box sellers. Those homeowners consider our guidelines and requirements a hassle they want to avoid. The box buyers and sellers are the reason and the sole primary reason why HVAC manufacturers put restrictions on their warranties and technical support for online sales.     Time Well Spent Before making any decisions or do any further research for your HVAC (Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning) system, please read the following page and introduction so you can better understand our industry, warranties, technical support and the difference in sellers.  Unlike other products you may have purchased, the methods and practices of the heating and air conditioning industry are very different. Knowing those differences will help you to make better and more informed decisions.      Isn't every seller of HVAC equipment a distributor and factory trained? If they are advertising the products they have to be affiliated with the manufacturer, don't they? Surprisingly the overwhelming majority of HVAC sellers on the internet have no affiliation with any of the manufacturers' products they advertise. Any manufacturer providing a product certainly knows who is selling their products online, right?  And if they didn't approve or of the seller wasn't qualified or affiliated somehow with the manufacturer they would not let them sell their products, right? Unfortunately those assumptions can and have caused a lot of unsuspecting homeowners problems after they have made their purchases.  A manufacturer can't stop anybody from selling their products whether it is online or elsewhere. It's simply against our fair trade laws. Most times these sellers will make their purchases from other distributors or dealers similar to DESCO Energy or from friends in the industry and then sell them online. They work out of their houses and usually have no training in the HVAC industry. We have not found any other online sellers who have state licenses to distribute HVAC products nor are they qualified to provide factory technical or warranty support. We however could be wrong and there might be another qualified certified licensed distributor out there. So if you are inquiring to any competitor ask them their credentials and their qualifications. If in doubt ask them to provide something in writing by any industry authorizing agency that authorizes or qualifies them to sell the products they advertise such as a state license, factory training. manufacturer authorization or certified industry training to sell the products they advertise. It's too easy for any seller to say "Yes I'm qualified and authorized and I've been in the HVAC business forever". Okay but what difference does it make? Price is price and I can get warranty and technical support from the factory just like any other product, right? Wrong! In the HVAC industry warranties and support are handled very differently from other manufacturers' products. In the HVAC industry products typically advertised such as this Trinity boiler are sold to licensed experienced professionals by distributors. The distributor provides technical support as well as warranty support only to the licensed professional. When a distributor is unable to provide the proper technical support or warranty support then the licensed professional or distributor may call the manufacturer for assistance. So if I do my own complete installation I can act like the licensed professional and call you or the manufacturer when I need technical assistance or warranty support, right? Wrong again. No homeowner is qualified to do their own complete installation unless they are already licensed HVAC technicians. Plus HVAC Manufacturers will not and do not provide technical or warranty support to the end user or the homeowner. DESCO Energy will provide certain basic technical support to you. We'll even show you how to do most of the installation yourself if you have the proper required skills and technical expertise. However we require that you use a licensed professional to do the final part of any installation, check-out and start up of every boiler we sell. We also provide technical support to your licensed professional doing the final start up and check out of the system should the need arise. What happens if I just ignore your requirements and do the installation myself? DESCO Energy provides a warranty validation form to you that must be filled out and completed by the licensed professional of your choice. This form must be returned to us within 60 days of the sale of the equipment. Failure on your part to use a licensed professional and not complete and return the warranty validation form to our offices will result in no warranty coverage or continued technical support. Extensions can be granted when requested in writing. No other seller makes an installation or warranty requirement, why does DESCO Energy? Remember at the beginning of this paragraph when we stated that the overwhelming majority of sellers of HVAC products on the internet have no direct affiliation with the manufacturers of the products they advertise? Since these sellers have no factory approved training or industry training they themselves are box sellers and their primary interest is in selling boxes. If they have little or no knowledge of the products they're selling, they can't very well establish guidelines as to how the product is to be installed or serviced. You may, like many homeowners, only find  these facts out too late after you've made your purchase and try to get warranty or technical support and are left with a boiler or other piece of equipment without any support whatsoever. Once you have a warranty failure and need technical support, then is when you will find out the extreme limitations of a particular seller. You will also find that manufacturers will be of little or no help in providing any support to you. My goal is to save energy and save money on my installation. High contractor prices, expensive service and maintenance calls coupled with the extreme high energy costs are really hitting me hard. I don't want to just buy boxes. I want to save energy, increase comfort and save on installation costs with a system that lasts forever. Can DESCO Energy help me achieve those goals and how? We can and do provide everything to help you meet those goals except the part about the system that lasts forever. Realize that every piece of mechanical equipment will fail eventually. It's not a matter of if it fails, but when it will fail. If your new system is sized, designed and installed properly, you will avoid costly premature failures and expensive repairs while saving energy and increasing comfort. By following our guidelines and assistance that has been developed over the course of 34 years, we can help you achieve your goals.  Our goal at DESCO Energy is to make your installation successful and eliminate costly surprises. We measure your success by sizing. selecting, designing and providing a heating and/or cooling system that operates at peak efficiency and provides you many years of improved comfort with the least amount of problems. We do this by providing the tools and expertise to help guide you through the process and to assist you in avoiding the problems that cause premature equipment failures, poor comfort and lack of any real significant energy savings. Our average homeowner saves 40 to 70% off of a contractor quoted installation, reduces their energy consumption at an average of 50% and increases their comfort levels significantly. No homeowner can achieve those goals by purchasing boxes from Box Sellers. If it was that simple we wouldn't have any need to provide the technical support and assistance we work so very hard at giving our customers. If it was so easy and simple we'd do it like other online sellers by simply listing the equipment and manufacturer's specifications in our ads and provide nothing more. But then we'd just be another Box Seller. We've taken the hard part out of it for you by providing technical expertise written in a format designed for the homeowner do it yourselfer. From the beginning we accurately size and select the most efficient system for you by use of our online sizing form. Oversizing of equipment is the leading cause of premature equipment failures, poor comfort and excessive energy consumption. We also provide the most complete website that gives you the most complete technical expertise including the most comprehensive library for HVAC installations on the internet. Our proven methods and technical assistance have provided thousands of homeowners with successful HVAC installations from Hawaii, Alaska, Texas, Canada and everywhere in between.  So when I purchase from DESCO Energy I'm getting more than a box, I'm getting the technical expertise that will help me to size, select, design and install the most efficient heating system possible for the lowest possible price with the full factory warranty support all provided by DESCO Energy. Before I thought that all online sellers were the same and that if I needed factory support I could go back to the manufacturer for everything. I just assumed that a seller advertising a product was affiliated with that manufacturer and authorized to be a distributor or dealer.  I'm glad I didn't make that mistake or the many other mistakes made so often by licensed professionals in the HVAC industry. All I have to do is follow your guidelines and I'll be set. Yes that's it! Now you're getting it. DESCO Energy provides a sizing form online that first helps you select the correct size system. Then we review the results of the results of the sizing form and select the size system that will efficiently heat and/or cool your house. But what about guarantees? I've had contractors provide estimates on the size system I need and they guarantee their results. (At least they said they do.) How about DESCO Energy? We guarantee every statement we make not with just our words but with a $25,000 bond on every online purchase you make from us. I've been checking your other competitors and I find most of them are working out of their homes and when I ask them for their technical training or affiliations they try to tell me they've been in the HVAC business for a long time and they know what they're doing. But none of them mention any affiliation with the manufacturers or provide any record of certified training. Does DESCO Energy have any certified training and what kind of track record do you have? We provide a complete technical support staff on call for you and each member of that technical support team is factory trained on every product we advertise. More importantly each technical support member has NATE certified training. NATE certified training indicates our technical support team has been trained to the highest HVAC industry level. NATE is supported and endorsed by every HVAC manufacturer in the industry and is the industry standard for training. As far as our record DESCO Energy has been in business for over 34 years with a perfect customer record. DESCO Energy is the only eBay seller of HVAC equipment that is a Member of the Better Business Bureau with "0" complains and has 100% feedback with no complaints filed against us in over 34 years. We have a complete brick and mortar operation located in South Central Pennsylvania with over 35,000 square feet in our facility. So now all I need to do is find a contractor and I'll be set. Will you recommend a contractor in my area who will do the installation for me? Obviously you didn't visit our website yet. Go to the Start Here section of our website and read this area thoroughly. It's not a contractor you need to do the final start up and hook up of the system but the licensed installer who works for the contractor. Most if not all contractors are trying to sell their own brand of equipment at their costly mark ups and profits. But the installers working for the contractor are almost always looking to make extra money doing their own installations and charge a lot less. You'll find more about this on our website and how to locate a qualified licensed installer of your choice.  You're purchasing your equipment from DESCO Energy saving you 50% or more off a contractor's price. Contractors are generally not interested in doing installations for homeowners who have already cut them out of their profit loop. In most instances you're paying the same price as the contractor or even less when you purchase form DESCO Energy. Now to be successful you need to find a qualified installer who will install the system or do the final start up and follow our guidelines on the warranty validation form. With this accomplished you are now on your way to significantly reducing your energy costs with a system that provides maximum comfort for many years of trouble free service.  Got Questions?? Need Assistance?? Confused?? Call DESCO Energy Toll Free 877-265-9764 8-5 Eastern Time   When considering doing your own system installation there are established guidelines and requirements to assist you in making the most successful installation. Success as measured in increased comfort, energy efficiency, reduced energy consumption and equipment longevity. The first area of concern is the size and type of system to chose. This is where the most common mistake is made resulting in oversized equipment. Oversizing of systems is the main cause of poor comfort, excessive energy consumption, increased warranty claims and premature equipment failures. Forget about the old American adage and culture that believes "Bigger is better" and "If a little is good than a whole lot more should be great!"  The worst mistake is to put in a larger than required system. To begin make certain the system you select is the right size. How do I determine which size system would be the right size for me? DESCO Energy provides a detailed online sizing form. Using Manual J, the industry accepted standard for determining the exact amount of heating and cooling BTUs we provide you with a final requirement. Based on that requirement the correct size system can be selected. For example your house may need 36,780 BTUs of cooling and 79,456 BTUs of heating. The cooling BTUs result will also show you how much latent cooling and sensible cooling will be required. Latent cooling is the amount of cooling for removing moisture and sensible cooling is the amount of cooling required to lower the temperature to a desired indoor temperature when the outside temperature is at the highest load. The highest outdoor load or often referred to as the summer design temperature is specific to each region of the country. Then the energy losses are included which are a result of the size of the house, thermal efficiency from walls, ceilings and floors insulation as well as window sizes, types and location, doors, ceiling heights, square footage and other energy gains. These factors are then calculated to determine the final cooling loads. Heating loads are determined by the winter outdoor design temperature as well as the house energy efficiency factors to arrive at a final heating load. As you can see this is an involved process of calculations and when performed correctly will arrive at an accurate heating and cooling load. Sizing by our online Manual J system is not only a request, it's a warranty requirement. If we don't size your system, you won't have any warranty protection. Click Here to go to our online sizing form What if I simply replace the system with the size system I presently have? Since over 70% of existing systems are oversized the chances of arriving at an oversized system would be more likely. If you have also made changes to the house which have increased the thermal efficiency such as newer more efficient windows or doors or increased insulation, your house is more efficient and requires less heating and cooling. Selecting the system size based only on the present equipment capacities is a big mistake and your chances of having a successful installation are greatly diminished. The system size would be based on erroneous and obsolete information.   Sizing by our online Manual J system is not only a request, it's a warranty requirement. If we don't size your system, you won't have any warranty protection. Click Here to go to our online sizing form Why should I trust your calculations over a local contractors recommendations? You're located in another region of the country and you've never even seen my house. The contractors have been here and saw what my house looked like. Certainly they have a more accurate idea of what size system I need than DESCO Energy, don't they? The results of our online sizing are guaranteed to be accurate. When you purchase the recommended size system we provide after completing our online sizing form, we guarantee the system will perform to provide the cooling and heating requirements of the design outside temperatures. No, we don't select equipment sizing based on a possible nuclear winter or that one in a hundred year period of extreme heating or cooling. If we did the equipment would be grossly oversized the other 99 years. One of our technical support team members provides more sizing of systems in one month than the average contractor performs in their entire careers. In fact most contractors rarely if ever perform a Manual J calculation on any of their installations. Most are still using the same rule of thumb that was used over 30 years ago. In one year we provide thousands of systems both locally and online. With that volume we can't afford to be wrong. In 35 years of business we have never had one compliant filed against us through the Better Business Bureau or any other source. To be honest we have had four systems in our entire history of 35 years that were sized incorrectly. We replaced those systems at no cost to those customers. To tell you we never make mistakes after selling thousands and thousands of systems would not be the truth or believable. We feel we're good but we're not perfect. However in the past 15 years we have not had one system that was sized incorrectly either by over or under sizing. This is a record we work hard at to maintain. Accuracy is the most important part of determining the size system you will require. How do I go to your online sizing form? Click Here and you will be directed to a new window with our online sizing form. After you submit the online sizing form information you will receive an email verifying the information was received and processed. You will also be requested to call our Technical Support Team for a review of the results. The review process allows an opportunity to review the results for clarification. We respect your privacy and we do not make phone calls as a result of submitting the sizing form. You decide when to call us at your convenience. We will not divulge any information to any other parties and we firmly believe in protecting your privacy! Click Here to be directed to our ONLINE Sizing Form How much of the HVAC installation can I perform myself? In most instances a skilled do it yourselfer can perform about 95% of the installation of a boiler. No homeowner should ever attempt to do the final start up and check out of the system. This phase of the installation needs to be performed by a licensed installer. A homeowner can install remove the existing boiler, place equipment in their respective locations, perform electrical wiring runs for high and low voltage lines where permitted by law, install piping and pump, install in floor radiant heating or baseboard heating. soft solder water lines, run Pex tubing, install relief valve discharge line, etc. What should be performed by a qualified experienced installer is final wiring hook ups for power wiring and low voltage controls such as thermostats, pump relays or zone valve controls, etc., leak test the boiler, install flue ducting, check chimney and if it isn't lined, install a new liner, final connection of gas lines, inspection and final assembly of venting pressure test the boiler and gas lines, take CO2 and draft readings and any and all other items that may be required by local codes. DESCO Energy will never sell any system or equipment and in particular a boiler to any homeowner who has no intention of employing the use of a qualified experienced licensed technician to perform the final hook up and start up. If this is your ultimate goal you should note that we do not provide any warranty or technical support for any system that has not been installed as per our required warranty validation form, local and national codes and checked out thoroughly by a licensed certified and qualified technical who is experienced in boiler installations. We realize no other seller addresses these issue but it is in your best interest to follow the guidelines and requirements we have established. This assures you of a system that will provide many years of trouble free service and maximum comfort and energy savings. There is a serious extremely high degree of danger if equipment is not installed correctly. Such dangers as carbon monoxide poisoning, suffocation, fire, electrical shock, serious water damage, pipes freezing and busting, personal injury in all forms are risks you impose upon yourself and your family or other occupants needlessly and foolishly in order to save a few dollars. It is so foolish not to follow our recommended guidelines in the name of saving a little more money. Realize you have already saved thousand of dollars by doing most of the installation yourself. But to do a complete installation without using a technician voids the warranty, places your loved ones at high risk without their consent and in situations that do cause serious property and bodily harm, the insurance company many times will deny any claims because you were breaking the law. Yes realize it is against federal, state and local laws to install refrigerant lines and in most areas to hook up gas furnaces as a homeowner. When an insurance company has an opportunity to deny a claim legitimately they will do so. There is absolutely no homeowner who is sufficiently experienced in doing their own installation without the assistance of a qualified experienced technician to perform the final start up and check out. Competitors don't provide or mention the risks or potential problems that can arise nor do they provide guidelines or warranty requirements. Is it because they don't realize the risks involved or because they don't care? You be the judge.  If you would like more details email us to request the warranty validation form. Do you provide a list of contractors in my area to do the final start up and installation? First we recommend looking for a qualified installer. The installer is the technician working for the contractor. They are not required to be a licensed contractor and we strongly recommend looking for a technician rather than a contractor. Contractors have their own brands of equipment they want to sell you and are generally not interested in installing equipment purchased elsewhere. The technicians working for contractors are almost always eager to do side jobs and you save even more. It is a qualified technician of your choice, not ours. We refrain form recommending installers due to past problems of inconsistencies and performance. As well we have absolutely no control of the contractors or installers who sign up for the preferred installer list. We do not want to give the impression of endorsing any installer to which a customer may mistakably think came with our blessing and then turns out to be everybody's worst nightmare. The best way to find a qualified installer is to network through friends and family, ask for referrals at local supply houses or simply stop a service technician next time you see one and talk to them. By all means interview the installer carefully about the methods and procedures they use, their time frame and make certain they come insured so you are protected.  Most importantly get it in writing. For more information on how to locate a qualified installer see our website. EBay rules do not permit us to provide links to our website form any ad but doing a Google search for DESCO Energy and we'll be right there. I also need a duct system design and might possibly need a duct system. Online sellers only provide equipment. What do I do to get a complete system? DESCO Energy provides free duct sizing with a system purchase. We also will provide duct review of any existing system to verify if the present system is adequate for the size equipment required. And we also provide the most energy efficient fiberglass ducting system precut to your requirements. Check our other ads on eBay. DESCO Energy is the only online source providing the complete system including ducting. You can order your complete heating and air conditioning system designed for easy installation like an erector set from A to Z including all other accessory components. For more information about duct systems click here How do I know which system is best for me? Natural gas, fuel oil, propane and now electric costs are skyrocketing. Which system is going to be the most cost effective and what energy is the best deal? Natural gas prices will continue to fluctuate the same as oil prices have for years because every day we are importing more and more of our natural gas as our demand outstrips our supply. As with fuel oil you can expect a lowering of prices when you least need it and higher prices over the winter. Unlike fuel oil, natural gas can't be stored so as the prices fluctuate another factor will be certain. As demand increases so will costs. Some natural gas customers bombarded by natural gas increases made a mistake by switching to a heat pump system to only now see electric costs increase 50-78% in various regions across the country. Baltimore Gas and Electric recently raised prices 74% and further increases will be likely. Other providers in the mid Atlantic region are to follow suit as these providers generate power form fuel oil and natural gas. What needs to be understood that as fuel prices increase electric power derived from hose same fuels and even coal will also be increasing. As fuel users switch from one fuel to another the increased demand will inevitably cause price increases no matter what direction you turn. Here are some basic guidelines. The most cost effective heating and cooling system is geothermal but the installation costs are enormous making this a poor payback - generally 15 to over 20 years. In most instances a geothermal system doesn't leave much room for the do it yourselfer. Only if you can get extremely creative it might be possible to cut those costs in less than half. For comfort and cost effectiveness radiant floor heating or baseboard with proper zoning make hot water heating an excellent choice. But here again high installation costs make this system a 6 to 12 year payback depending on how much of the installation you perform.  If you have natural gas consider a dual fuel system. A dual fuel system offers an excellent opportunity to reduce heating fuel costs another 20%. Dual fuel also adds protection against one energy source over another and provides choices. A dual fuel system is one that combines a fossil fuel furnace with a heat pump. The heat pump is most efficient between outdoor temperatures of 35 to 70 degrees. As the outdoor temperature falls the more efficient fossil fuel furnace operates. Most dual fuel systems provide an ultra efficient gas furnace with a heat pump. There are also fuel oil and propane furnaces in conjunction with a heat pump. Dual fuel systems cost slightly more than the fossil fuel furnace with air conditioning. However the cost difference provides a quick payback of less than one heating season by the lowered heating costs. How much can I reasonably expect to save by making a heating and air conditioning system a Do It Yourself project? The skilled homeowner who anticipates he can do the maximum amount of the installation as permitted by codes and laws and can perform 95% of the installation can expect to save 70% off the price of a contractor quoted installation. Further the average homeowner tells us they saved at least 50% off their energy costs. Taking a typical installation or replacement that is contractor quoted at $7,000 and with annual energy consumption at $3,400, the skilled do it yourselfer will save $4,900 for the installation and $1,700 in energy costs. That is a grand total savings of $6,600. In this equation the homeowner paid DESCO Energy $2,100 for the equipment and saved $6,600 for a payback of period of less than 4 months. Looking at this same investment strictly from a payback versus energy costs saved the homeowner will see a 15 month payback. So no matter how you do the math, there is no better payback you will find on any investment such as you're heating and cooling system. Looking at the homeowner who isn't proficient at do it yourself projects and elects to only do the bare minimum which in most equations this amounts to 30% saved off of a contractor quoted price or as in the above example 30% of $7,000 or $2,100. This no so proficient homeowner will still enjoy the same energy savings as above or  $1,700. This homeowner will see a total savings including contractor savings and energy of $3,800. He paid DESCO Energy $2,100 and the installer $2,800 for a total investment of $4,900. His savings will be $2,100 for the installation and $1,700 in energy costs for a total first year savings of $3,900 from an investment of $4,900 or a payback period of 15 months or 1 year and 3 months. From an energy savings comparison only of $1,700 from an investment of $4,900 his payback will be 35 months or slightly less than 3 years. In review of our homeowner who only uses contractors and has no involvement the payback based on energy savings would be $7,000 against $1,700 annual energy costs for a payback period of 4 years and 1 month. The information provided above is a result of surveys we performed from customers and their results. Naturally the more you do the more you save and the savings are significant. Most homeowners would like to upgrade their heating and cooling systems but with the average investment showing only 4 to 7 years payback, it isn't cost effective. But when a homeowner sees a payback of two years or less then that investment becomes worthwhile. And as energy costs continue to skyrocket, the investment becomes even more significant. Remember the best investment you can make isn't on Wall Street, it's on your street in your heating and cooling system. Where else could you make an investment that guarantees a return of two years or less and continues to pay dividends of 25% thereafter? As energy costs increase your investment continues to provide even greater returns. If any homeowner was given that type of investment opportunity they would be lined up around the nation. For over 80% of homeowners this same investment opportunity exists right in your house today. Speaking of investments what are these tax credits all about? Tax Credits only Apply to New Home Construction as of Jan. 1, 2008 For more details about the tax credits and the new energy bill Click Here I'm building a new house. Where should I begin? New home construction is an excellent opportunity to provide the most energy efficient system. When new homeowners purchase a new home from a builder they are getting the cheapest builder grade low end model installed at the lowest possible price. \The average homeowner will focus on the color the kitchen cabinets and spend their entire focus on selecting the proper cabinets, etc. Then when it comes to the item that will consume the largest part of their monthly budget, their heating and cooling system, the only question they may ask is the name of  the manufacturer. With little or no regard for the efficiency or features of the system they think that because it is a name brand they recognize that it is dependable and efficient. Nothing could be further form the truth. If a homeowner realized how little the builder pays the installer and that the system selected was the lowest and cheapest model they could purchase and still keep it a name brand, homeowners wouldn't have to wait until their first heating season to realize they got exactly what they paid for. What about the warranties? How can you provide warranty protection when we are located in another state from DESCO Energy? How then do we have warranty protection? First it is extremely important to understand how warranties are handled on do it yourself installations versus contractor installations. When you have a contractor perform your installation it is the responsibility of that contractor to provide the warranty service and support after the sale. The manufacturer provides warranty support to the contractor who in turn provides warranty support to the homeowner. The manufacturer does not provide warranty support directly to the homeowner. The only time a manufacturer may get involved is when the contractor fails to properly service the equipment via the terms of the warranty because the contractor is no longer in business, is incompetent, can't fix the problem or fails to respond. In these circumstances the manufacturer may elect to contact their distributor in the area to locate another dealer or have their field representative provide the warranty support. Unless the homeowner purchased a labor contract from the manufacturer the only obligation the manufacturer will have is to provide warranty parts.  When you purchase a system online you are acting as your own contractor. To purchase at wholesale you do not have the same warranty support you may have if you had a contractor perform the installation. You as the contractor must realize there is no longer free labor support. You will receive the equivalent warranty from DESCO Energy that a contractor receives from DESCO Energy. We will provide warranty coverage for parts as shown in the manufacturers warranty. However because we provide certain coverage that may sometimes extend beyond the manufacturers standard warranties it is not correct for us to say the warranty protection we provide is the standard manufacturers warranty. On all equipment the warranty protection and coverage is the responsibility of DESCO Energy. New Yorker as well as all other HVAC manufacturers do not provide any warranty coverage direct to any homeowner. DESCO Energy will always be your source for warranty coverage for the entire life of the warranty. Any parts needed to be replaced under the terms of the warranty must be returned to DESCO Energy. Replacements parts are sent immediately for any request and must be prepaid including shipping. Shipping of new replacement parts and their return to us shall be the responsibility of the homeowner or end user. In warranties where the entire unit shall be replaced as a result of any heat exchanger failures, the cost to return the item, labor to replace and the cost to ship the new replacement furnace shall be the responsibility of the homeowner or purchaser. Lifetime warranties are only applicable to first time purchaser and are non transferable. Lifetime warranties revert to 20 year coverage for secondary transfer to other parties. In the event of warranty parts we require the system must have been installed correctly as evidenced by the return receipt of the warranty validation form provided. Because we provide coverage beyond the factory warranties and because labor allowances are granted in specific situations the warranty coverage is more than the factory warranty and is therefore the sole responsibility of this seller, DESCO Energy. At no time shall the warranty coverage offered for all products we provide be less than the equivalent Goodman factory warranty. What is the Warranty on the system listed in this ad? The warranty on the product listed in this ad is:  The New Yorker CGA Steam Boiler has Limited 1 year warranty on all parts and 10 years on the Heat Exchanger.   Please note that for any and all warranty support DESCO Energy requires that the final hook up of boiler and gas lines and power and control wiring as well as check out of the system must be performed by a licensed professional installer (Not necessarily a Contractor). In fact we strongly recommend NOT to look for a contractor as they have their brands and they're not ever thrilled about a request to install equipment that was purchased elsewhere at a cost of less than what they may pay. We provide a Warranty Validation Form that must be completed by your licensed professional installer and returned to us within 60 days of purchase of system. Failure to return this form to us within that time frame will result in voiding any warranty parts and technical support. An extension of the time frame of 60 days must be made in writing to us but it can be no longer than 100 days from date of purchase. Remember no HVAC manufacturer provides warranty or technical support direct to the homeowner and it is the total responsibility of the seller to provide warranty and technical support to you. That is why it is most important to purchase your HVAC system from a supplier that is a real brick and mortar operation with over 35 years in business and is listed and has a direct affiliation with the manufacturer. DESCO Energy is the only distributor that is listed on Goodman's website. Also to know if the system you are purchasing is the correct size please go to our online sizing form Click Here  If you are simply replacing an existing system or if you are adding air conditioning don't guess and don't take a contractors advise. We provide accurate guaranteed sizing and we're the only online source providing this service at no charge. Plus it's guaranteed. We size thousands of systems annually and we can't afford to be wrong or to make the mistake of under or oversizing your system which is the main cause of premature equipment failures, poor comfort and wasted energy. DESCO Energy sizes more systems in one month than the majority of HVAC contractors may do in their entire careers using the latest Manual J system and a very sophisticated computer software designed for your specific house in your area of the country. Any homeowner who attempts to do their own complete installation is not properly skilled nor do they have the proper test equipment and tools to do a complete installation. Most homeowners can do up to 90 to 95% of the installation but the final part and check out must be performed by a licensed installer. An installer is the technician working for a contractor and most installers are more than eager to do work on the side. For more information on how to locate a qualified installer please check our website descoenergy.com or contact us toll free 877-265-9764 8-5 Eastern time. For a copy of our warranty validation form email or call us. Our email address is info@desconenergy.com     For complete warranty policies and procedures etc. Click Here     How is my system shipped? All small item orders such as thermostats, humidifiers, air filters or single small component orders are shipped UPS. However if your order is for a complete system and small ancillary items, they shall all be packed together and sent through our carrier - ABF. Our common carrier ABF, also referred to as a trucking company has shipping terminals located throughout the United States. The most economical means of shipping any system is to the terminal closest to you for your pick up. Shipping costs can range anywhere from $118 to $300 on average depending on your location and the items being shipped. For example furnaces and boilers are less expensive to ship than air conditioning or heat pumps. This has to do with the classification of the item's) being shipped.   We have negotiated our contract with the shipper for a 70% discount to most locations. The shipping costs are always paid to ABF direct and not to DESCO Energy when you pick up your shipment at the terminal or if you elect to have home delivery. You do not pay any penalty for freight collect charges and only the exact amount of discounted shipping costs. Most items we advertise are in stock at our warehouse. With shipping times you can estimate any order will take about a week or more for delivery again depending on your location. In the shipping of any item's) it is the responsibility of the customer to inspect all items before signing the receipt from the shipper. It is very important to open all boxes and packages and inspect for hidden damages because you cannot go back and claim damages once you have signed. To settle a claim with any carrier can take up to 60 days and as with any damage claim can be quite time consuming. DESCO Energy does offer a $40 insurance claim policy. In the event your shipment should arrive damaged you will immediately notify the shipper as well as DESCO Energy and make note of such damage on the receipt. If the entire shipment is damaged, refuse the entire shipment. If only part of the shipment is damaged or if the damage is slight, take the items that are satisfactory and reject those that aren't. For slight damage simply make note of the damage and accept the order. If you purchase the insurance we will then settle the claim with you within 7 days and go back on your behalf and file a damage claim with the shipper. However note that at no time does our policy or the shippers cover hidden damages. For this reason it is extremely important to inspect all items before signing for them.  Rarely do we ever have shipping damage and if you check our feedback customers comment about how well our shipping department packs their orders. Over the years we have learned how to pack to avoid most shipping damage. For this reason it is rare to have a shipping damage claim. But if you purchase the additional insurance and have a problem you'll be glad you did. If you live in the Mid Atlantic region you may also choose to pick up your equipment. All systems such as furnaces, heat pumps boilers, air conditioners receive a $25 discount when you pick up at our warehouse.   How do I determine what my shipping costs are going to be? Need a freight quote? Click Here  to go to our ABF Shipping Calculator.     An HVAC system is a major investment. I want to be certain I'm getting the best value for my money and my purchase is from a reputable source. Why should I purchase from DESCO Energy and what makes them any different than other online sources? This is the most important question any homeowner could ask. There are a lot of ads on the internet all proclaiming to be the biggest, best, honest, cheapest, etc. These nebulous statements made without facts to back it up have no effect on the typical do it yourself homeowners who are far more sophisticated to be influenced by this type of MTV marketing.  DESCO Energy offers you may things to be assured you are making your selection and purchase from a reputable company. First and foremost we are a Member in Excellent Standing with the Better Business Bureau both online and locally. We stand by and practice the policies of the Better Business Bureau so you can be assured your purchase is safe. DESCO Energy is Bonded by BuySafe. BuySafe provides up to $25,000 protection to you to guarantee your purchase is as advertised and that all statements and claims made in our ads are true and correct. If for any reason we do not do or provide those services and items as described in our ads you have the additional BuySafe protection bond that will step in if required to make it right. Obtaining BuySafe protection requires rigorous and detailed financial and credibility in the industry to which we are involved.  The BuySafe standards are very high and involved. Every business using the BuySafe protection seal has been verified and met high standards for financial health, stability, longevity and customer satisfaction.  DESCO has over 34 years in the Heating and Air Conditioning Business. We have provided thousands of successful heating and air conditioning systems to homeowners, business and industries over the course of our history in every part of the nation as well as Canada. In that time frame not one customer has ever had to file a complaint with any outside agency. In other words we have 100% track record in 34 years. All our technical support team is NATE certified. NATE is the leading source of training and testing for the air conditioning industry. We have a full staff of 5 highly trained technical support members at your service to assist you with questions, size your system, provide ducting layouts, select the most efficient system for you, provide floor radiant heat layouts, etc. Their cumulative experience is over 100 years of HVAC experience. One of our technical support team members will size more systems in a month than a typical HVAC contractor will do in their entire careers. At that rate we can't afford to be wrong.   DESCO Energy is the only source on eBay that details and explains factory warranties and their procedures in writing. Is DESCO Energy the biggest online advertiser of HVAC equipment and systems? Our competition certainly thinks we are but we have no idea or how that could be verified. Since we don't request or apply any pressure to our customers on eBay to provide feedback, the feedback represents only a small fraction of those who have made purchases. Naturally we would prejudicially think we are the best. But again that is an opinion reserved for every customer and their specific experience, not ours. We are a gold level power seller with 100% feedback on eBay and in 35 years the Better Business Bureau has never received one dispute or complaint from any of our customers. So how does DESCO Energy stand up against their competition?  No other eBay power seller of HVAC equipment has a 100% feedback rating. No other power seller is NATE certified or provides BuySafe Bonding. In order to provide BuySafe bonding a seller must authenticate their financial status and soundness as well as their industry affiliations and status within the industry. A seller of any product of HVAC equipment who has no direct affiliation with the manufacturer or the products they advertise can't become bonded. No other power seller of HVAC equipment is listed in any membership with the Better Business Bureau. Let us repeat this statement: No other eBay advertiser of HVAC equipment is a Member of the Better Business Bureau. No other power seller has a 100% record with the Better Business Bureau with no complaints filed against them. In other words those sellers who are not members of the Better Business Bureau have had actions filed against them by disgruntled customers. Obviously the sellers forced their customers to file action against them through the Better Business Bureau to obtain resolution because the seller wouldn't do it on their own. Every past and potential customer lists membership in the Better Business Bureau as the first and most important factor when making a decision about making a purchase. The second most important factors were a tie with the BuySafe bonding and our direct affiliation with the manufacturer. After they made a purchase we asked our customers what was the single most important reason why you purchased from DESCO Energy instead of a competitor. Almost unanimously the response was from the service and knowledge provided by our technical support team. Price was usually the third most important reason.  And our competition still tries to impress with unsubstantiated claims using words such as biggest, most honest and cheapest. Any homeowner sophisticated and knowledgeable enough to install their own HVAC system is far more advanced than the average person and thinks outside the Box. You deal in facts and want information that is useful to you. Reading this ad indicates you are that homeowner who thinks far beyond the average homeowner. You're serious about saving energy and you are also looking to have the best system your budget allows. On average you will perform a better installation that rivals most contractor installations. Unlike a contractor you'll take the time to do it right and read the directions first. You're on a learning curve and you're need is for information that will get the project completed with the least amount of stress. You also realize this isn't only about saving money. It is about increasing comfort and providing a system that will be of optimum performance for many years without failure. Also important is to realize you are purchasing from a source that is directly affiliated with the manufacturer that has a long solid positive history with it's customers and can provide useful information and support when required. You know that ads with terms such as biggest, most honest and cheapest are not impressive and aren't useful. Certainly you want the best pricing but you also need a whole lot more. With manufacturers all stating they do not provide warranty support to homeowners for items ordered over the internet and realizing that warranty support has to come from the seller it is vitally important that source knows everything about selecting, sizing, installation and technical support and is going to be around for many years to come should the need for warranty or technical support arise in the distant future. Unfortunately there are online advertisers promoting HVAC systems as though they were the same as a major household appliance and requiring little or no valid support in the future. By their lack of clarity on warranty and technical support they leave the impression that selling an HVAC system will be supported by the manufacturer directly. It is important to understand that no HVAC manufacturer will support any warranty directly to a homeowner regardless of from whom, where or how the purchase was made. In the case of extended warranty protection as provided by DESCO Energy it is important to understand first and foremost these warranties are supported by DESCO Energy and not the manufacturer.  So how does DESCO Energy compare to the competition? With 100% record and a Member in Good Standing with the Better Business Bureau, $25,000 BuySafe protection for every online transaction, 34 Years in the HVAC Business, over 100 years of knowledge base from our NATE Certified Technical Support Team, Real Brick and Mortar Operation with offices, training center, and multiple warehouses of over 35,000 square feet, Inventory In Stock on Premises, Goodman A+ Dealer verified on Goodman's website, Stocking 5 major HVAC manufacturers including York, Tappan, Goodman, Fedders and Gibson and 4 boiler manufacturers, plus much more inventory from other major HVAC manufacturers, a complete fiberglass duct fabrication shop, a comprehensive and detailed website designed solely to technically assist the homeowner do it yourselfer, thousands of successful HVAC homeowner and business installations,  and a staff that is ready to assist you to help your success in installing your own HVAC system. Here is how to check out DESCO Energy and any other seller. First go to the Better Business website and type in DESCO at 26 N. State St. York, Pa. 17403 Click Here   The most common question asked is will this size boiler fit my house. Is this boiler large enough to supply heating to my house? If you've been doing any research at all every HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) manufacturer and government energy source has emphasized the importance of having a Manual J calculation preformed to determine the heating and cooling load requirements of your house. Manual J is the only recognized source which establishes the methods and calculations required to obtain accurate heating and cooling in btus.  DESCO Energy is the only online source providing Manual J sizing for your house at no charge and the results are guaranteed. The first step in any heating or air conditioning project is determining the size system required through determining the heating and cooling losses for your house. Click Here and you will be directed to the only online sizing form using Manual J. As far as we know we are the only online source providing any type of online sizing using any method. Results of the online sizing are required to be reviewed by one of our technical support representatives before they are given. After completing the online sizing form you will receive notification via email the information has been received and processed and to contact a technical support team member to review those results.  Did you realize over 99% of online advertisers are not authorized by any manufacturer or agency to sell their products? Did you all realize no manufacturer can legally stop online sales of their products? Almost all boiler manufacturers in particular will tell you they do not provide warranty or technical support for their products sold online. There is only one source - DESCO Energy - providing factory authorized support to sell boilers online from the manufacturers we represent. Why is DESCO Energy able to provide this endorsement while other sellers cannot? DESCO Energy has been providing Do It Yourself HVAC systems for over 34 years. Our business began by distributing HVAC systems and accessories to industrial and commercial customers. 23 Years ago we began providing HVAC systems to Do It Yourself Homeowners. From all these years of experience and literally thousands and thousands of successful installations we have learned and gained a wealth of experience to assist the do it yourself market. Unlike other online advertisers that range form one man contractor operations working out of their homes to advertisers that having no affiliation with the HVAC industry, their ads are merely a copy of the manufacturers specifications. Manufacturers' specifications are written for industry professionals and are not meant to be used as tools for gaining the required knowledge to do a successful installation. Whether it is manufacturers design specifications or installation instructions, that material is not designed to provide a comprehensive information for a qualified installation meeting industry or manufacturers complete standards. Homeowners are not industry professionals and do not have sufficient experience or training to be able to size, design and install a successful installation simply working off of manufacturers' manuals. DESCO Energy wants your project to be successful and as a result of the many years of experience we have acquired we have guidelines and requirements established for all installers and installations. A warranty validation form is provided to be completed by a licensed installer of your choice for final start up and check out of the boiler system. Failure to follow these guidelines and requirements and return of the warranty validation form will result in the loss of any and all warranty coverage and technical support. Further we will never knowingly sell any boiler or HVAC system to any homeowner that has no intention of using an experienced licensed installer of your choice to complete the final check out and start up of the system or complete and return the warranty validation form provided. If we didn't establish guidelines and requirements and adhere to them we would be no different than the one man show working out of their homes selling HVAC boilers like they were nothing more than another major appliance. We understand why manufacturers will not support those types of online sales. We also understand everything required to make a successful installation. Our technical support team is the best available. We don't know of any other industry professionals who size and design as many successful systems as our team does at DESCO Energy. A typical team member will size and design more systems in one month than most contractors will do in an entire career. To become a technical support team member requires years of training and education.  Our goal at DESCO Energy is to continue to maintain our great relationships we have with our manufacturers and you by providing a successful installation with many years of energy savings and long term equipment service. When purchasing a boiler for a new in floor radiant heating system or replacement for a hot water baseboard system, you can't afford to deal with Advertisers who are not Factory Authorized or Trained in the products they sell. A great deal in price is worth little if it results in a poor design or advice or after several years from now the seller no longer exists or the manufacturer refuses to provide warranty support. DESCO Energy provides the best price and the absolute best design and technical support.     No matter what the product may be, it's always possible to find a lower price somewhere. Trinity has one of the best track records for us that are far above other manufacturers in the ultra efficient boilers. Remember that everything breaks down and fails. It's not a matter of if but when. When it happens to you and your technician can't figure out the problem, we will and we always have with every product we sell. Yes we're aware the copy cat advertisers are now trying to peddle the Trinity boilers and they may offer a $25 or $50 lower price. But when you need that technical or know how support or service support or warranty parts, that savings will mean absolutely nothing coming from another seller who has no knowledge of the product or if they're no longer in business or if they have no parts that can be shipped out immediately. Do they advertise Factory Trained Service? Do they even tell you what they have to offer other than a box? Do they explain in any written detail about how they handle warranty or technical support issues? No? That's because there is none. So would you rather make this substantial investment from DESCO Energy or that? It is always a recommended step to verify and validate with the boiler manufacturer whether the seller or the product advertised is supported by the manufacturer. We did just that. We called Munch.. and Peerl... and Burnh... and Wei.. McLa... and Cro.. because we wanted to know if our competition was legitimate and Factory Authorized and if the sale of their products came with Factory Support or Factory Warranties as we do at DESCO Energy.  We can tell you none of the manufacturers approve or provide warranty support for any of their boilers or other products sold online. (We didn't use the full names to avoid eBay listing violations of keywords.) Do you really want to make this kind of an investment into a boiler for $$$$ that has no factory support and absolutely no factory warranty??? You do the math and figure what it will cost you if your new boiler purchase doesn't perform as you thought it should or you have technical problems. Beware of boiler sales from box sellers and drop shippers who have no Factory Authorization. The seller may tell you they'll provide you with their idea of the factory warranty and support. What happens later or several years from now when you can't get in contact with the seller or they don't live up to your expectations? HVAC equipment warranties and support are subject to important and specific requirements. They are not similar to other household appliances in that you have to go back first to the Authorized Distributor or Dealer of their products to obtain warranty support. The manufacturer works through their Authorized network of distributors to provide warranty support. The Authorized Distributor has been factory trained and approved and has made a serious financial commitment to the manufacturer in terms of inventory, warehouse, training, etc. for their products. In the event of technical problems the Authorized Distributor is responsible for resolving these matters. It is the full responsibility of the distributor to resolve these problems should they occur. The factory is only consulted by the distributor in the unlikely event the problem can't be resolved by the Authorized Distributor. By purchasing a boiler from an unauthorized seller you are out of the manufacturers established loop of Authorized Distributors. The manufacturer has no proof of whether the boiler was sized and installed correctly and to their specifications. And you have no idea who the Authorized Distributor is nor how to verify a factory approved installation. So you have no factory warranty or factory support. Further manufacturers provide territories of distribution with each distributor.   Customers report to us the hot water on average saves then an additional 16%. Here is how. As the outside temperature changes the boiler also changes the temperature of the hot water. While standard boilers operate and maintain a constant water temperature of 180 degrees the Trinity boiler will lower the hot water temperature as the outside air temperature increases. A typical hot water reset schedule would be to provide 90 degree hot water at 60 degrees outside air temperature and 140 degrees at 30 degrees outside air temperature and 190 degree water temperature at 0 degrees outside air temperature.  with hot water reset you'll save an additional 12 to 20% of those energy usage.     Remember energy efficiency isn't only about the Seer or AFUE rating. To achieve true energy savings and efficiency it's a lot more than just the equipment.  If you want complete details about features such as humidification, indoor air quality, variable speed etc. and the benefits they provide in additional energy savings and comfort visit our website. DESCO Energy The absolute only Authorized Factory Sales with Factory Support and Factory Warranty for Boilers Don't make such a large investment form any other source and hope you'll get some type of warranty protection. Be Safe Buy Safe Warranties The unit listed has a full manufacturers factory warranty supported directly to you from DESCO Energy. Manufacturers of HVAC equipment do not provide warranty support or technical assistance directly to any homeowner. The warranty on the product listed in this ad is: Limited 1 year warranty on all parts. 10 Years on the Heat Exchanger - 5 Years 100% 6-10 years prorated. With so many efficiency changes coming in our industry, the new energy tax credits, new features and benefits, the skyrocketing fuel cost increases, fraudulent practices by some competitors, changes in warranties, etc. the information simply became too much to put into any single ad. Homeowners were demanding more and more information to assist them in selecting and installing equipment as newer features became more complex. In response tot hose demands we went to work a year ago putting together the most comprehensive website in the HVAC industry. In fact our website is so comprehensive with thousands of informative articles that if you can't find the information there or the link to the source, chances are it may not exist. You won't find any pricing on our website but you will find a wealth of information. Do a search for DESCO Energy on Google or any search engine and we'll be there at the top. Did you know the overwhelming majority of online sellers of HVAC equipment are working out of their homes? Don't have a license to sell HVAC equipment? Don't stock a single piece of equipment? Have no direct affiliation with the manufacturer of the products they sell? Can't provide a Factory Warranty? Have only been in the HVAC business for about as long as the internet has been popular? Before that they didn't know anymore than you do about HVAC equipment? Some plagiarize specifications and present false manufacturers specifications. Some one man show advertisers make no attempt to hide what and who they are and are very upfront with their customers in their ads. It is the overwhelming number of others who do everything to stress their "honesty" while deceiving potential customers into portraying an image of a large factory distribution outlet.   You'll learn many more interesting facts about who these sellers are, how to pick them out and their fraudulent practices on our new website including how to make a safe purchase and protect yourself against online fraud within the HVAC industry. Look at our ads carefully for solid information to assist you in getting started to make the best selection of an HVAC system for your house. You will find useful information you can use to make intelligent decisions for the best energy efficient system for you. Manufacturer's ads and literature are designed for the experienced contractor and to provide protection to the manufacturer from liabilities against incorrect procedures and installations. Manufacturer's installation literature is not designed to assist  inexperienced technicians nor Do It Yourselfers. What you will learn most from all manufacturer's installation literature is what not to do and even less about how to do a complete installation. Manufacturer's assume the installer has complete experience in the HVAC industry.   The most common item overlooked when replacing an HVAC system is the duct system or air distribution system. Usually the duct system is assumed to adequate. As a result nobody checks whether the existing duct system is sized and installed correctly. Upsizing of HVAC equipment is a common mistake made by contractors and homeowners. When replacing any system every homeowner needs to ask the cause of the failure of the existing system. Was the failure due to inadequate comfort? Or was the failure due to high maintenance costs? Or is the failure simply a result of higher energy costs? Or a common mistake is to assume the equipment simply is worn out and there is no need to check any design problems of the exiting equipment or system. If the failure is a result of inadequate comfort levels often times this can be the result of an improperly designed and installed duct system. Only replacing the existing HVAC equipment will not provide a solution to the problem of inadequate comfort. Increasing the size of the HVAC equipment to an existing duct system that is already poorly designed and installed only compounds the problem of comfort, increases energy consumption and causes premature equipment failure. At DESCO we will not attempt to sell you an HVAC system under the pretense that it is as simple as purchasing a major appliance. There's so much more to the whole process of sizing, selection and installation of an HVAC system.  We understand there is a lot of misinformation in this industry. Look around our ads and our education information we've provided online. Hopefully we'll clear up a lot of the misinformation with solid practical advise based on our many years experience and industry engineering solutions that are proven to provide the maximum energy savings, comfort and equipment life. We also promise not to make you part of the epidemic problem of oversized equipment and undersized or inadequate duct systems. We'll help you avoid becoming part of the ever growing statistics of premature equipment failures by oversizing as highlighted in the Department of Energy's Top Concern for HVAC systems. We won't size your HVAC system by a climate chart or square foot per ton. Climate charts may work well for planting flowers and vegetables but not for sizing HVAC systems. Sizing of a system by square foot per ton will almost certainly guarantee an oversized system. You can also find more information about the negative results of this problem from the US Dept. of Energy web site.   For this and many other reasons we will not quote any HVAC system to any Do It Yourselfer via a request by email or phone until we have had an opportunity to correctly size and determine the best system. According to the US Dept of Energy over 90% of premature HVAC equipment failures are a result of oversizing of the system. At DESCO we promise not to add to this growing epidemic. In this ad we'll explain our warranty, shipping, sizing, selection and basics on how to get started in the process of determining which HVAC system will work best for you. Hopefully we'll open your mind up to a lot of the misinformation you may have already been given. Even if you've already had several contractors propose the same size and type of system we'll provide information here that may cause you to rethink that proposal and realize there are better alternative     Do It Yourself HVAC Getting Started On the road to installing an energy efficient maximum comfort HVAC system the first step is to determine what type of system works best for you. The choices are many and can be confusing. Heat Pump, Gas or Oil Furnace with or without air conditioning, Electric Heat, Geothermal Heat Pump, Dual Fuel System, Radiant Floor Heat. Forced air or convection or radiant? What fuel is the most cost effective? What kind of life expectancy should I expect? The answer to these questions depend primarily on where you're located and what your specific costs of energy are for your particular region. One size doesn't fit all and energy costs vary throughout every region. The first part of this process should be to determine what your real energy costs are.. When determining real costs add the taxes and other charges because they are part of the real equation for comparisons. Certain utility companies offer tremendous incentives to use a specific type of energy. For example in certain areas the utility company may provide a discount if you have an all electric home. Those discounts can be 50% or more over what a regular customer receives. In addition certain utilities offer rebates for installing higher efficiency equipment. Check with all your local utilities to understand what discounts and rebate programs might be available. Also determine the length of the program. For example a utility that offers a substantial discount for only six months and then increases the rate might not be such a great deal. A number of all electric homes were built n the 70's and 80's because the electric utilities were offering great incentive programs at the time. But when those discount programs expired the homeowner was left with a utility cost that was so expensive they couldn't afford the monthly costs. Worse was the fact they couldn't get proper market value if they attempted to sell the house. Be careful of all these programs and realize the real cost effects of the energy when the program ends. When it does, are you going to be faced with those ultra high utility bills? In some cases there are ways to plan around those potential problems by selecting a dual fuel system when that choice is available. Many people today believe the cost of natural gas is higher than any other fuel available because of all the price increases from 2004. Recent utility trends have been to lower the cost of natural gas. In most regions of the country natural gas is still the best value of all fuels available. When it comes to natural gas, electric, oil and propane the prices of each utility continue to increase rapidly. Like a horse race to see who can achieve the highest costs the prices rise faster monthly. We're made more aware of this effect every time we stop at a gas station to refill our cars. Every week the prices change and mostly upward.  As a basic rule of thumb the cost for heating and air conditioning is the biggest household budget item. Determine what your costs are for your specific area so that you can make a more intelligent decision in selecting the most efficient system for you. Regardless of the type of present system you may have, don't automatically assume this is the best replacement. A developer may have selected the type of system you presently have due to special offers from the utility years ago or initial cost factors. Utility costs were different years ago and so were the types and efficiencies of systems. Also improvements to the house such as more energy efficient windows, additional insulation and weatherization all play an important role in the size system required today. Initially a house may have required a 3 ton system but later was made more energy efficient and today may only require a 2-1/2 ton system. Now is the perfect time to explore all your options. Also remember dinosaur attitudes and memories never seem to fade in the HVAC industry. For example we continue to hear customers negative apprehension about heat pumps or electronic control systems for furnaces that are left over from 25 to 35 years ago.  These products and their associated problems have been resolved many years ago but the apprehension  and reputation undeservedly continues today as though it was just last year. There are however certain basics you can use. Natural gas is still the best buy and prices are actually beginning to decrease in certain areas of the country. Propane gas is generally the most expensive form of heating. And oil and electric are generally somewhere in between. The best system for comfort is In Floor Radiant Heat. The most efficient form of heating is a dual fuel system combining the efficiency of a heat pump and natural gas or oil furnace. The least expensive operating system is a geothermal heat pump but initial equipment costs and installation make this system ineffective for return on investment. To read more about these and other types of systems go to our Ebay education center where we provide greater detail about them. You can find those links at the beginning of this ad. Review all your options and possibilities before making a final decision. If you need further assistance don't hesitate to call our technical representatives to assist you Toll Free at 877-265-9764 or email: info@descoenergy.com     Sizing Once you've determined the type of system and fuel you'll be using the next item is the size or capacity, efficiency and features. To determine the correct size system you'll need to look at many factors such as the type, size and construction and direction of walls, windows, roof and location and direction. All these factors and more determine what size system you need to install. First we need to deprogram all the misleading information you've been told about sizing an HVAC system correctly. Please note there are only two methods of correctly sizing an HVAC system. The right way using Manual J as a basis and the wrong way. Most likely the method you have learned one of the following wrong ways; The contractor told me this was the right size. I had several estimates and all the contractors told me this size. I used one of those charts that show you how many square feet per ton. My neighbor's house is this size and that's the size system they have. And on and on... Too many HVAC contractors are notorious for using rules of thumb for too many applications. Why? It's quicker and easier to use a Rule of Thumb. The problem with these sizing methods is they cause you to purchase a system that will more often be too large. So what's wrong with a larger system? After all it's a common American belief when a little is good then more is even better, right? Of all the wrong decisions that can be made about an HVAC system selecting an oversized system is the worst. Bigger is not always better! Here's Why? First and most importantly the larger system will fail prematurely and the comfort level will be less than desirable. If it's an air conditioning system the cooling won't run long enough to properly dehumidify the air. The comfort result is a house that's cold but clammy.  The hidden result is a compressor that short cycles. The compressor fails long before it normally would have if the system was sized correctly. Note that short operating cycles destroy HVAC equipment and decrease comfort. Why install a larger system that costs more initially when a smaller system will give you the effective results you need? Contractors do this because it's safe. Homeowners are usually unaware of the problem because the destruction goes on unnoticed to the untrained eyes and ears. Homeowners and contractors in our field are installing a system that won't provide sufficient heat or cooling. However this problem rarely ever happens. A furnace that is oversized produces short cycles of hot blasts of air instead of warm air. Again short cycles will destroy any HVAC equipment prematurely. A normal operating cycle will last anywhere from 12 to 15 minutes or more. Shorter operating cycles prohibit the unit from obtaining normal operating temperatures and result in the system never obtaining operating efficiency. Much the same as your automobile that is only operated for short periods of time, the engine never gets warm enough to operate at the maximum efficiency levels and the net result is higher gasoline usage and short life cycle. Remember that a heating system has to obtain very high temperatures in the heat exchanger as a result of the burning gas. During this process there is a tremendous strain the heat exchanger as the system expands due to the increasing temperatures and stress on the motors due to starting torques required. Constant starting torques on the motors and continual expansion and contraction of the materials result in a premature failure. These are hidden effects that you don't see or notice until the repair bill comes or the furnace fails completely beyond reasonable repair. What you will notice is the discomfort associated with oversized equipment. Instead of a more balanced temperature the result is hot blasts of air and wider temperature fluctuations resulting in larger temperature swings. Many homeowners assume this is simply normal and become accustomed to this type of operation. Oversizing of equipment is such a chronic problem that it has become epidemic. In fact the problem has become so severe the US Department of Energy has published many articles and warnings about the problem to you the consumer. Oversizing of equipment is the single biggest problem of premature equipment failures in the HVAC industry. Why does this problem proliferate in the HVAC industry? An HVAC contractor and a homeowner's worst fear in selecting an HVAC system is that it won't heat or cool sufficiently. Having no experience or confidence in our industry's accepted design and engineering standards such as Manual J,  results in a guess. To be safe the guess will always be on the extremely large system. The end result is a system that is not only uncomfortable, but also an Energy Hog!  There is remedy to this problem. At DESCO we're putting an end to the epidemic oversizing of HVAC systems for you to help you avoid premature equipment failure, increase comfort levels and increase energy savings and less initial cost as well. DESCO will at no charge size your HVAC system accurately with guaranteed sizing results. Simply Click Here to go to our online sizing form. Fill out the requested information and then push the submit button. You will the receive an email indicating the information was received and the results are ready for you. Our technical staff will review those results with you to be certain all information is correct. Most importantly there is no charge for this service. You can then be assured you know the correct size heating and cooling system for your house based not on guess but real engineering standards. Our HVAC computer sizing is Manual J as the basis. Manual J is the form and method recognized as the correct engineering method to determine correct sizing of any residential structure. In addition to this software we have added other limits and calculations in addition to the Manual J program. These additions limitations for ventilation for extremely efficient tight construction such as ICF. Are we accurate? In one month each technical associate in our company will size more systems than the average contractor will size in his entire career. Our software system is one of two that has been accepted and recognized by most governing agencies in our industry including the US Dept. Of Energy. After 34 years and with the volume of equipment we sell we can't afford to be wrong. Our sizing takes into consideration all effects of your house including geographic location, your climate data for your specific region, the construction of your house and the insulating efficiencies of all walls and windows. We can also tell you the effect of adding more insulation or increasing the efficiency of the windows and the effect this will have on the size of the HVAC system. We realize we provide redundant information on the importance of correct sizing intentionally to stress to you the importance of this issue. For new construction we strongly recommend in addition sending us the plans for the house either via a sketch that is faxed to 717-846-3880 or emailed to info@descoenergy.com. You can also mail a copy to us direct at Technical Sales Dept.  DESCO, 26 N. State St., York, Pa. 17403 All drawings should include floor plans, elevation view and direct of either North, South, East or West. Drawings do not have to be to scale. If you wish to do a computer layout there are free downloads of programs on the internet. Attachments should be in standard office format such as pdf. jpeg, gif or wrks. Our virus protection many times will not scan cad drawings effectively. In the event of improper scanning the firewall may delete the attachment or email. We recommend converting all cad formats to standard formats such as dwg or office formats. We provide this sizing service to you at no charge. If you want a room by room printed analysis, we do have a service charge for this. However in the case of in floor radiant heat we will as necessity requires provide a room by room analysis for estimating purposes. We do not provide the individual room results or analysis unless there is a purchase of a system.    After Sizing is The Radiant Flooring   Radiant Floor Heating Radiant floor heating has been used for centuries. The Romans channeled hot air under the floors of their villas. The Koreans channeled hot flue gases under their floors before venting them up the chimney. In the 1930s, architect Frank Lloyd Wright piped hot water through the floors of many of his buildings. Some home builders' surveys have shown that, if given a choice, most new home owners prefer radiant floor heat over other types of systems. Advantages of Radiant Floor Heating Most people who own radiant floor heating feel that the most important advantages are comfort and quiet operation. Radiant floor systems allow even heating throughout the whole floor, not just in localized spots as with wood stoves, hot air systems, and other types of radiators. The room heats from the bottom up, warming the feet and body first. Radiant floor heating also eliminates the draft and dust problems associated with forced-air heating systems. Even heat distribution may result in lower heating bills. With radiant floor heating, you may be able to set the thermostat several degrees lower, relative to other types of central heating systems. This is because the entire surface of the floor radiates about the same amount of heat that the human body does, making the occupant feel warm even though the air temperature might be only 65ºF (18ºC). It also radiates this heat for a long period of time. Radiant systems may result in less infiltration of outside air into the house compared to houses with forced-air heating. Radiant floor heating proponents claim that fuel savings of 15% to 20% over forced air systems are possible. However, recent reports suggest that this may not be the case, since occupants may not be comfortable with a "low" thermostat setting and thus not set it lower. Radiant floor heating also allows for lower boiler temperatures, which may result in the boiler lasting longer (a 45 year life is not unusual). Radiant floors operate between 85-140ºF (29-60ºC), compared to other hydronic heating systems' range of 130-160ºF (54-71ºC). To some, the greatest advantage of radiant floor heating is aesthetic. The system is "invisible." There are no heat registers or radiators to obstruct furniture arrangements and interior design plans. Radiant floor systems also eliminate the fan noise of forced hot air systems. Types of Radiant Floor Heating There are three types of radiant floor heat: radiant air floors (air is the heat carrying medium); electric radiant floors; and hot water (hydronic) radiant floors. All three types can be further subdivided by the type of installation: those that make use of the large thermal mass of a concrete slab floor or lightweight concrete over a wooden subfloor (these are called "wet" installations); and those in which the installer "sandwiches" the radiant floor tubing between two layers of plywood or attaches the tubing under the finished or subfloor (dry installations). Because air cannot hold large amounts of heat, radiant air floors are not cost-effective in residential applications, and are seldom installed. Electric radiant floors are usually only cost-effective if your electric utility company offers time-of-use rates. Time-of-use rates allow you to "charge" the concrete floor with heat during off-peak hours (approximately 9 p.m. to 6 am). If the floor's thermal mass is large enough, the heat stored in it will keep the house comfortable for eight to ten hours, without any further electrical input. This saves a considerable number of energy dollars compared to heating at peak electric rates during the day. Hydronic (liquid) systems are the most popular and cost-effective systems for heating-dominated climates. They have been in extensive use in Europe for decades. Hydronic radiant floor systems pump heated water from a boiler through tubing laid in a pattern underneath the floor. The temperature in each room is controlled by regulating the flow of hot water through each tubing loop. This is done by a system of zoning valves or pumps and thermostats. Wet installations are the oldest form of modern radiant floor systems. In a "wet" installation, the tubing is embedded in the concrete foundation slab, or in a lightweight concrete slab on top of a subfloor, or over a previously poured slab. If the new floor is not on solid earth, additional floor support may be necessary because of the added weight. You should consult a professional engineer to determine the floor's carrying capacity. However, due to recent innovations in floor technology, "dry" floors have been gaining a lot of popularity over wet floors. Much of this is because a dry floor is faster and less expensive to build. There are several ways to make a dry radiant floor. Some "dry" installations involve suspending the tubing underneath the subfloor between the joists. This method usually requires drilling through the floor joists in order to install the tubing. Reflective insulation must also be installed under the tubes to direct the heat upward. Tubing may also be installed from above the floor, between two layers of subfloor. In these instances, the tubes are often in aluminum diffusers that spread the water's heat across the floor in order to heat the floor more evenly. The tubing and heat diffusers are secured between furring strips (sleepers) which carry the weight of the new subfloor and finished floor surface. At least one company has improved on this idea by making a plywood subfloor material manufactured with tubing grooves and aluminum heat diffuser plates built into them. The manufacturer claims that this product makes a radiant floor system (for new construction) considerably less expensive to install and faster to react to room temperatur
