It has a terrific white and black marble base with knurled brass feet. There are two engraved brass sculpture of goat heads on each side of the stand and one woman head portrait which decoreted with rose designs arround is inlaid in the front of the marble stand. The white and black veined marble base of the clock rests on delicate turned brass feet. The clock has a skeletonized pinwheel movement visible from all angles with its white porcelain dial, it is a great looking clock. The top of the clock is a brass grid iron style, but the clock hangs from the bottom of the pendulum, actually the base of the pendulum. It winds from the front of the clock, and has a matching key. This piece is so special, since it has a pinwheel escapement, with pins offset on the escape wheel that the verge runs on, and the whole clock swings back and forth as it is ticking.
