Smaller than a sewing machine, the amazing Unimat rivals big tools for ruggedness-and fun.   Small for a lathe (you can tuck it under one arm), the Unimat is actually a drill press, horizontal and vertical milling machine, surface grinder, and gear maker all in one. Say all that about a 17" long chunk of hardware and you get raised eyebrows from most machinists.   Inside chuck capacity is 15/16"; with jaws reversed, it will swing diameters up to 2 15/64". The longest work you can mount between centers is 6 3/8". Stock of 7/32" diameter will go through the hollow spindle, but 1/4" is stopped at 2 1/2"   Obviously the Unimat isn't for turning brake drums or turning bowling pins.
