This eliminates the problem of other grinders -- the build-up of old, stale grinds that mix with and spoil your lovely fresh grind, and the heat generated with their burrs and motors. One dose of beans goes into the hopper, and one dose of ground espresso (or other coffee) falls nicely into the portafilter or other container.
